My grandson goes there 5 days a week over 5 years and really enjoys going there. Very helpful staff on a rotating rota....there are many people with vertid types of disabilities and the staff copes with them all

Sitting on the fence do not contact Caritas to discuss. I too was a student at VIP several years ago and raised issues and was made out to be nasty woman. My first day the team leader and assistant told me not to listen to a member of support staff as he was manic sinister causes problems talks too much. They told me to report to them everything he did and said. The opposite was true he was the most knowledgeable understanding kindest member of staff with service users his main focus and TEN years experience. The odd slander on a member of staff on day 1 put me on guard and I had to raise several serious issues with VIP. They were ignored by team leader assistant and LD manager. I went up to see a senior manager. I was called to LD manager's office (the one who isn't the registered manager as there are two at same level!?) and told I should of raised with team leader. Which I'd done. I was made out to be a trouble maker. My concerns ignored. My second week I was ignored by the team apart from the previously mentioned man who they put me working with. They thought it was a punishment but he treated me with respect. They made snide comments about him of course but we were dispatched one day to Blackpool all day to work in a charity shop which was bliss. On my last day we were sent to a dancing group. A lot of the service users went. At one point one fell asleep and a support worker who used to be a senior tried to force melon into his mouth. When challenged it looked very bad in front of other agencies she told me he had to have his fruit at 11am! She reported me for interference with her job but not before she'd gone around telling everyone else first. Again I was made out to be horrid for raising a legitimate issue! The team leader wouldn't fill my paper work in but sent it to my placement manager who took one look at it and its bizarre contents and didn't believe a word of it. Caritas has a reputation now for these kind of things.

Brilliant organisation that puts children and young people first! I work on the adoption team and I proud of the work we do. Our children's service is Ofsted Outstanding and we have worked hard to achieve this! Would strongly recommend coming here.

Mick you put your review on with the intention of a reaction. You get one then complain. I won't comment on you personally as this isn't the place I'd tell you directly. But I think you have let your co workers down by posting like this.
Whats the company policy on you making public statements in any form. Because reading my missusus handbook its not permitted. Unless you were made the CEO since she left or the CEO authorised it both of which I doubt. If I'd commented like this publicly like you when I was in the military I'd of been on a charge. Have you heard the military saying loose lips sink ships?!!!!!!

I don't think you playing games on Google review is the smartest thing by you or the other staff who are doing it. Your all bringing the company into disrepute. This could backfire on you all if your not careful. People have been sacked for less. What if next time a situation occurs where you disagree with management they want to get rid they could use this to fire you you should of stood you ground when it started not be a victim of it all. I was surprised I expected better of you. What if a potential client reads the petty games your playing or social worker or a potential funder. You think Joe public take heed of reviews from obvious staff members? You state you don't want to leave Caritas but if you ever go for a new job what will a potential employer think of playing out staff differences like teenagers on the world wide web!
Not that it matters too much as a friend of mine was out last year with his wife and friends and a Caritas group were out too. As they were chatting shop it didn't take long for him to figure out where they worked which team and a quick check on social media and he knew who they all were and who they were chatting about. They didn't even realise others could hear them discussing confidential stuff.
So better for all if you stop the on line games remember you represent Caritas when out and about and remember you could be sat near to a relative of one of the clients or a social worker who would report you

The care that is shown to adults that go is wonderful. The staff have a difficult job but don't let that show, constantly smiling. The charity do a great job caring and protecting those who maybe can't do it then self.
