I'm a s trafficking survivor with C-PTSD and I've received horrible counselling- was previously under NHS for ages receiving trauma therapy and have never had a counsellor like the one I've received nor had any issues with connecting to one. I'm shocked. This was the one place I should be able to access and feel supported and UNDERSTOOD, but I've felt the opposite to the extreme- I've received victim blaming language, an extremely clinical attitude, no attempt at building rapport, it feels more of an interrogation where she throws spaghetti at the wall to see if anything sticks. For four out of five sessions I've been questioned on my "bad choices" which I understand can be a way to empower some by recognising the choices they do have but I have made it clear I'm looking for empathy and not to be questioned on a choiceless act. I was an abused child thrown onto the streets by my own mum and trafficked, there is no choices in this. I've also been asked if I thought these things happened for a reason and had to make it clear that even though I do believe in God, there is no "reason" for such horrific torture. It goes on and on but I'll include being asked a question, answering and then them just sitting in silence until it's uncomfortable and a judgemental attitude, clearly in it just for the money as I've received no empathy whatsoever. I didnt attend this week because last week I sat there stone faced due to her attitude and lack of rapport and then went home and cried and talked to Samaritans. I was also under the impression and made it evident I wanted and needed EDMR, brought it up with the counsellor and she said you have too much trauma Edmr is just for one or two experiences not hundreds.

Made an appointment, I attended on time, travelled from another town and not well, stood outside nobody was there. Phoned their Warrington Office from their txt appointment to be told the Counsellor was on leave, with no cancellation notification whatsoever, but state in their txts to me if "I" do not attend etc. Will not be returning!!! Disorganised and unprofessional in a service like this is disgusting.

Helped and supported me throughout the whole process, the counselling service was superb, and they helped me to better myself and help me to turn my life around. Don't suffer in silence like I did.
