Absolutely beautiful! Can't believe this place has been on my doorstep and I didnt even know. Theres about 4 different trails for all different fitness types. Be prepared and take wellies in the colder months. Toilet facilities at the car park and you do need to pay for parking. You can get down to the river if you want to. Lovely walk for dogs as well but note that there can be live cattle around too.

With natural beauty in abundance, this park is fabulous.
If you like walking, no matter how fit you are there's a path for you. Boots are a must at this time of the year as some areas are muddy.

well I've been coming here for years, 1st with my parents as a youngster & now as a father myself with my kids, dog or just to relax.
Richmond itself is a perfect place to reflect upon the busy weeks we all get.
Hudswell wood well you've quite alot of paths you can venture along, most not suitable for wheel chairs or pushchairs but to steep hill location, steep steps to travel up/down or a tight twisty path, 1 of which goes along the rivers edge which is very rocky.
planty of spots for the dog or even kids to play in the shallow water & for you to enjoy a picnic, theres a couple of small sandy beaches & some pebbled beach/water front areas to pick from & enjoy.
for this walk, there is a good nicely spaced car park which is a pay & display. clean toilets & picnic tables just to the side of the car-park itself.

you can also venture to Richmond castle, or to the falls/rapid area... for all those camera handy ppl... these areas do tend to make some nice images.

for me everyone is friendly, I've never had any issue in the car-park, stalks are also in the area (seen one today 16.10.2018) king fishers can be seen, owls in certain areas & times, deer, rabbits, sometimes cows/horses & then the general bird population which I've no where to start.

Lovely walk in the countryside with super Shetland ponies🐎🐎. Our children loved the ponies. I like the information board detailing the ponies are ok in the cold weather. Good map on the board. Good amount of car parking.🚘 picnic site near carpark. Would recommend a visit.

Lovely walk through the woods and along the river, and little ‘beach’ on the river bank, perfect for throwing stones and pebbles in the water! The only minor negative was the cost of using the toilets and that the car park isn’t free for national trust members.

Pleasant walk around the Tarn starting at the nature reserve where 3 Roe deer were grazing. Trying to walk quietly in hiking boots proved difficult but still managed to get fairly close. Used the hide by the Tarn to watch the birds and had a stoat run across the path ahead of me. His coat was a mixture of brown and ermine.

Lovely place for a walk all year round. Bring boots unless it's been very dry! Can be really muddy.
