wonderful place, great arrangement of the easter egg trail for the kids in the gardens. a slight hassle of actually finding the right way to enter and they operate weird limited opening hours.

but wonderful picnic area next to the house itself. the tour inside was well worth the entry ticket (no need to buy in advance), another good easter egg hunt there as well, and wonderful and knowledgeable volunteers. warmly recommended!

Our favourite place to go. There are so many footpaths and circular routes throughout the estate, which are wonderful to stroll along. Afterwards, you can visit Pavillions Tea Room for a delicious meal and great coffee. Wander the gardens and botanic walk, visit the garden centre which has a fantastic range of products and yet another cafe, or go to the farm shop and sit in the courtyard with a delicious ice cream.
If you like historic houses, Stanstead House is interesting to visit.
For kids, there is the maze and train. Best of all parking is free. Just as an aside.... the toilets in the gardens are the cleanest we have ever visited.

We visited the park, the forest, enjoyed the tea room and bought ticket to the actual property.

Tea room is lovely. Nice staff and good environment to enjoy the food.

The volunteers in the house are extremely enthusiastic about the history of the building. Lovely people to tell us all the information and show us around.
Did you know that the lift in the building was originally manufactured for the Titanic, but at the end they didn't need that so it ended up here! Still in working condition.

For the forest walk you might want to bring wellies. What a lovely loop we completed around the private estate!

We were lucky enough to walk past the house when it was open to the public for the day. It has a superb interior and experts who tell you interesting facts about the house and its history. My favourite part was visiting the cellars to see where the staff worked and lived.

A wonderful place to go for a visit. Good garden centre. It's nice to explore the grounds and the tearoom is a real gem. All the staff are happy and friendly. The mini steam trains are great fun for all the family and the food store is stocked with lots of quality products.

The house is well layed out limited to the lower floor and servants quarters. Guides in most rooms with abundance of advice.
Free parking, the gardens are well layed out and peaceful. The gardens centre offers quality plants and garden furniture.

Elegant country house in vast parkland setting. The house itself was closed unfortunately but there was a club rally of Rolls Royce and Bentley cars from all ages, so very interesting anyway. Also a very nice restaurant and cafe in the walled garden area, even though it was a bit tricky to find.

Amazing and beautiful place to visit relax and even make a picnic with your family or friends no barbecues ok you can do long walks and the Stansted House is outstanding I can recommend this place
