Dreadful place run like a p.o.w. camp.certain favoured addicts are allowed to enter every evening off their heads on coke and heroin, later on shooting up some more in their rooms, at times causing fights, never any action taken. If you are a clean living teetotaler and a member of staff, going up to,and including Mrs boss, takes a dislike to you for whatever reason ........... You will be out on the street straight away, homeless again.A lot of corruption here, going right down to staff taking home the best donated food, meant for residents, home with them as perks.

As a volunteer I might be biased, but I always find the shelter to feel welcoming, safe and comfortable, and have helped overnight many times without a problem, and I urge others to do the same.

I am very happy that such a place exists for those in our town who have fallen on hard times. I am told by some of the guests that it is a world away from some other shelters around the country (of which there are far too few at any rate for the growing number of homeless).

I think the shelter does a great job on a shoestring budget of mostly donations (a budget which is about what the council would pay for a single manager). Long may it continue.
