It is only when you are out of Thera that you realise how toxic and mentally draining it is, 13 hour shifts and often less than a week to get a rota, it makes life very difficult for those with carer responsibilities etc, also some staff only work with one person while others work with six or more, it’s great for students, they wait for their timetables and allow them to choose when they work while leaving other staff to manage their lives around this, both work life and personal, also nepotism is rife, the people supported are all amazing, however, there are frequent assaults and management expect staff to be assaulted as part of their role and offer no support, the company are not forward thinking and don’t encourage staff to challenge their practices which are dated, it’s ok as a job in the short term but in the long term it’s rather like Groundhog Day.
