The home itself was OK and, as other reviewers have said, there are some excellent staff who get to know the residents and interact with them. However, the financial and contract management that the families have to deal with is appalling. Recently proposed revisions to contracts were clearly at odds with the original contracts, for example proposing increases which the original contracts clearly stated were not due for another 6 months (and to backdate those increases when the original contracts clearly stated said that notice would be given). An overpayment of fees had accidentally been made an no-one from the company called to let us know that this had happened (it only came to light when the resident passed away and the final account was produced). Then, to add further insult, the repayment took almost 3 months, the accounts team claiming that checks had to be carried out. Checks do not take that long and it is simple enough to make the payment back to the bank account from which the original payment has been made. The home might be wonderful but the ‘back office’ staff are also part of the service and the poor service in managing our contract and reimbursement has significantly impacted our impression of Allingham. Beware and be willing to get into the contractual details to ensure you get the deal you sign up for.

My mother was recently discharged from hospital and eventually became resident at Allingham. Several of the staff formed particularly positive relationships with my mother and she appeared to really enjoy those interactions. Getting her to smile and have a joke meant a lot to us during this time. On top of this there were other examples of responsiveness to my mum's specific interests and needs, such as watching a certain programme on iPlayer, and helping her get out in the garden safely on sunny days. I was really glad my mother benefited from such a caring environment.

I can’t praise Gareth and the team at Allingham house enough. They care, support and look after both the patient and their family.
Parking is a bit limited but I never had an issue finding a space.
Keep up the good work team Allingham House 👍

No adequate parking. Set in the middle of existing housing so creating traffic problems. No local facilities. Over looks train and tram lines.
