I registered as a student in the nineties and then again a few years ago and have been on around twenty five trips. I’m really sad to see the international society close down this year and will really miss them so much. The team are so friendly and dedicated to providing a good service to their members. A rarity these days I’m sorry to say.

The place is a warm hub for international students in Manchester. Anyone can be a member. A lot of cultural activities organized by the students of different traditional backgrounds. Excellent and affordable lunch in the cafe. Many tours and voluntary events are organized by the renowned organizations.

I came to Manchester in the January of 2014, soon after my arrival my friend introduced me to International Society. Being University of Salford student I got the membership for free and got discounted ticket for a trip to York. Ever since then I have been involved in various activities at Society. From leading trips around UK, taking language classes and to volunteer for projects like Rocketworld where you get to teach local school children. Society has been really helpful for me to understand the importance of international friendship and understanding different faiths and cultures around the world. I was also part of a special project called International 16 which had members from 16 different countries around the world. This group taught me a lot personally and has made me a better person that I have always wanted to be, Society is open for everyone students, non-students and families. You can also work / volunteer on various projects through their website. I recommend all the international students to join the society and enjoy the benefits.

I never actually been to the events themselves, but they provide really inexpensive trips to many places all over the UK, and people who join these trips are generally friendly.
