We stayed here for the first time, and will certainly return. It is so peaceful, and all the staff were very welcoming. The whole place looks newly decorated, everything is clean, quiet and very comfortable. It was hard to believe we were staying in a busy area, it felt very tranquil, and having the courtyard garden was lovely. It is also unusual to have a car park in such a central location, and do not be put off by the rather drab approach to the car park from the main road, because inside all is fine, and also secure. It certainly feels like a retreat, which it obviously is, and though we were staying there as tourists, we enjoyed the sense of calm. If you are visiting London, the fact that Limehouse station is a couple of minutes' walk away is very handy too. Thank you to all the staff, we'll be back!

The hotel is conveniently located, about 15 minutes by metro from the city center, which is very convenient for exploring the city. Unfortunately, our room was disappointing. Although the room had spacious dimensions on paper, the layout was quite strange. There was a long corridor and relatively little space around the bed, which made it uncomfortable. The bathroom was also very small and was not cleaned properly, which was disappointing.||The breakfast was simple but acceptable. However, the staff was not very engaged, which made the stay feel less welcoming. On the last morning, our stay was interrupted by a fire alarm at 6:45 AM, which turned out to be false. Unfortunately, no apologies were offered by the staff, not even at check-out, which made the experience even less positive.||Overall, it was an average stay, but there is certainly room for improvement, especially in terms of cleanliness and customer service.

It's truly an urban oasis. very connected to the city via DLR next to it at the same time the lawn and areas surrounding are serene. The Continental Breakfast is very sumptuous. They have areas where you can easily sit with a book or reflect using their meditation guide leaflets.

An oasis of peace and beauty in the heart of London

The Royal Foundation of St. Katharine is truly an oasis in the heart of London. It's a rare gem offering peace and serenity amidst the bustle of the city. The beautiful garden and the profound silence make it feel like a hidden retreat—something you wouldn't expect to find in London.

The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The rooms are cozy, and the beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Although I didn’t try the breakfast, the delicious aroma of freshly toasted bread greeted me every morning, which was a lovely touch.

The location is slightly outside the city center, which might not be ideal for some. However, this is easily solved by the excellent bus connections just around the corner, making it simple to get wherever you need to go.

My favorite spaces were the lounge and the garden. I spent several evenings in the lounge, doing some art, and it was so peaceful that it felt almost surreal.

If you’re looking for a tranquil place to unwind, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a haven of calm in the middle of a vibrant city, and the minor inconvenience of distance is well worth the incredible experience.

Our family of 5 from Oklahoma, USA stayed at the Royal Foundation of St. Katharine's in August 2024 on a family trip to London. We truly enjoyed our stay! It was quiet, calm, and well maintained, and we felt completely at peace during our entire stay. We had two rooms that were lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spread at breakfast each morning! We got coffee at the Yurt Cafe, we got to relax in the courtyard in the evenings after a busy day of sightseeing, and we were able to participate in morning prayer on one of the days during our stay. The foundation is very close to the Limehouse station on the DLR and so it is a very accessible location to get to any part of London. It's also a short walk to the Canary Wharf uber boat dock. We had a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend St. Katharine's for your stay in London!

I was surprised at how peaceful it was considering it is between such busy roads. It was great to learn the history and the welcome was lovely. A perfect retreat. The gardens were lovely. I liked the way they combined the new building with the old. Staff were helpful and the food was great.

A wonderful oasis of calm in the midst of the London bustle. A warm welcome, clean rooms and a truly lovely lounge. Breakfasts are tasty and the yurt cafe not to be missed. I have stayed a few times now and will definitely continue to do so whenever I am in London.

What an absolute gem. This little haven nestled at the back of one of London's busiest roads is an oasis of calm and tranquility.|I felt like I was in rural Britain not urban city.|The rooms, lounge, grounds and facilities are first class. I could not be happier and will be coming back again.
