I was here many years ago due to homeless lived here for 2 years I am thankful for roof over my head but was better of on streets the rent was high and I couldn't afford food I was working full time and couldn't keep up with rent they asked for money up front which i clearly couldn't afford not understanding at all i had to go part time onces i got a council flay they never mentioned i was in arrears which come as shock to myself i had to pay rent for council property and still didnt just wanted there i thought they were a Christian organisation and spent my time paying them off I believe that there was another name a same person living in the same property as me as before me and I was paying her debt post it through my door with no warning I honestly felt alone I couldn't even keep food in my cupboard holiday embarrassed to tell them that there was no food in my cupboard at times when I was working really hard once I left the YMCA there was no extra support for me through me out like garbage I had no other family members or any support I have a voice now so that's why I'm speaking up can I respond to me with an email that doesn't exist and there's no getting through to them

my child went here for a school trip, it costed me almost £300 and a £10 deposit. I am a single mum. found it dificult to pay such a extourcinate price but my daughter desperately wanted to go. my child, age 13 came back filthy (due to the disgusting shower facilities there which she refused to use), hungry, upset and scammed. she tells me the food was, excuse the wording but, minging. One night, she could only have one undercooked sausage instead of two undercooked sausages becuase her group thingy was served last, which is plain unfair. she went hungry. my daughter said the rest of the food was in fact in-edible even if there was enough to go round. lake is no different to swimming in sewage- bring swimming shoes. apart from the decent water activities, this establishment offers many great activities such as making teenagers do team building (activities they are too old for) with wooden building blocks! (also proceeding to pour water on girls wearing WHITE tops "for a bit of fun" , which I will add to). tuck shop was expensive for what it is. made our kids run about in activities during a HEATWAVE (37 degrees approx) which is unhealthy.
I could be here all day explaining why you shouldn't go here. its all run down and trashy and an over all poo hole.
not to mention your 'workers', which one male volunteer touching some girls who were on the trip in order to draw on eachother with pen (and I don't see a problem with having fun like that on camp but touching girl's faces as a grown man in order to draw on their face is unnecesary) this was the same man who poured water on the childeren including girls (who made it very clear they weren't up for this) with white t shirts on! Clearly careless on who they allow to volunteer. If you need a little summer job, defo go here because they'll take anyone!
in conclusion, disgusting food, noncey staff, unnaceptable accomodation (slept on cold wooden floor) unhygenic, uncleaned facilities, don't go here.
p.s: I am not exaggerating with my negativity at all so don't take this down! x

Dont even deserve one star. They allow bullying to go on on a daily basis. They allow their tenants to physically attack children and they do t accept responsibility. When you try to speak to them they put phone down on you!!! Would never recommend any person to have to go tbrough that yreatment

It's a good place with a good purpose. Shame most of the people don't value that. And safety is something that can be worked on which it is at the moment.

Not sure it would be right to share my experience on here as it's more my daughter's than mine but a definite complaint is in the process, not happy is an understatement!!!
