Please stay away from this company. Midland Mencap only think about themselves. They are stopping me from seeing my girlfriend due to so called safeguarding issues, but in short they are only concerned with safeguarding themselves. They sit in her flat for hours a week on their phones. No support whatsoever. They call themselves support workers, but they have no idea what a support worker actually does. They manipulate people including family members into their delusions. If you or someone you know have mental health issues then stay away from this company because I can promise you they will make them even worse, and even cause you to consider suicide. For the sake of your health, I beg you to stay far away from them!

Been threatening by the member and the staff listen to your personal chats than go and report what the client said , they Don’t do they jobs properly and only after people money

Poor management. No hours available. Been told to contact sister company which does have hours but pays even less.

Staff come and go the pay is embarrassingly low and the rules do not apply to everyone. There are clear favourites who get away with things others are punished for.

Microggressions when asserting myself as a person of colour and things that aren't right. White counterparts always made out to be the victims instead of being held accountable.

Gaslighting and being ignored by management when they are exposed for lying.

Lots of useless leaflets, very confusing structure, most services carry a charge eg sitting service at £12.77 per hour where the service does not do personal care, toileting, bathing, nail cutting, manual handling, peg feeding - money paid for people to sit with you and do nothing for you.
Too much money is spent on bureaucracy.

I Been with Midland Mencap for years now but for about 3-4 years now for me there nothing to do that I enjoy doing it Just feels Like they put me in a room and then Locked the door on me its not right I am Adult with Autism and Anxiety Just feels Like I Been let down and Sometimes I Cry Just thinking about it at one time Mencap was amazing with lots things to do for everyone but now whats out there now its Shocking for people Like me we Looked forward to it and seeing a friends as well and getting out having lots fun but now where it all gone
