I went here after years out of the area & after a neighbours invitation to Sidfest 2024. I was no sooner out of a taxi than I was collared by an old friend I'd not seen for over 20 years wondering where I'd been!! What a lovely warm welcome which was the tone for the rest of the day & it was packed.
An even bigger suprise was that some lovely friends, Craig & Megan were there to sing to the crowd!! A lot of their set is classic Motown I found myself in my element, good company & excellent music, what more could anyone ask
There was lots of basic but well prepared food treats from a brew to a full sit down meal, bars with a wide range of drinks at extremely sensible prices, warm weather, games for the kids from a bouncy castle to ice cream van so they'd plenty to keep themselves occupied & 😊
Overall, whoever organised this really knows their stuff & must have been doing it for years & have an excellent team working with them. I really can't fault it so a very easy 15/10 . My only grumble was that I couldn't stay any longer than I did 😂 but a MASSIVE well done to all concerned 💯 x
I couldn't have popped in to see old friends last week, they'd only gpt a Northern Soul night on !! It was late when I arrived but it looked like the end of season presentations had gone down brilliantly well and everyone was in good spirits with a big cardboard box having younger members being rolled round in it, a ball being thrown round & a poor woman in the middle of this mad but very happy scene dancing Northern!! She must be keen or know her trade well because as the match ended there was a queue of very big men queuing up to join in and she looked to be loving it all 😂 Several of the lads were desperate for her to arrange another event so over to Stotes the wonderful Club backbone to sort it out as from what I saw & the friends this lady has locally I'm sure it'll be a packed house ! Brilliant venue, excellent DJ & a wonderful dance practise put on and this Dance Club who want to include every age group because she said she & her age group had learnt in Youth Clubs years ago. Excellent night out Siddal Rugby Club as always, hats off 📴 to you all 👍🏼 xx

Siddal was very easy to get to from the motorway, with plenty of parking. Albeit the road to the ground is narrow, so try to avoid parking on it.

The location is fantastic with beautiful views of the West Yorkshire landscape featuring in the background.

Admission for the first team and parking cost £3. With a good clubhouse with a bar selling a good selection of drinks and snacks. The clubhouse is spacious with plenty of rugby league memorabilia on the walls with views of the pitch, ideal for when the weather is horrible. As for facilities around the pitch, unfortunately, they are few and far between. There are no toilet facilities anywhere else besides the clubhouse, there’s nowhere to shelter from bad weather, and no seating area.

Food & Drink is limited around the ground, one stand selling, burgers, sweets, chocolate, coffee and soft drinks, then another miniature bar selling alcoholic beverages outdoors. The staff are very friendly, however the food options are limited.

There was no police presence at the ground, however, I don’t think it’s necessary, the environment was friendly, and a really good atmosphere.

The atmosphere was ok. Nothing too exciting, but the weather was horrendous, and fair play to the crowd, they stayed out in it.

It’s a really nice place to visit, take in the views whilst you watch the rugby.

Wonderful club staffed by nice friendly people. The Rugby League was excellent and the location of the ground is beautiful. If up in West Yorkshire, do drop in to take in a match. Highly recommended.

Small parking space if a couole of games are on but lovely new build club and well kept grounds. Butties are lovely. If you like an extra spoon of coffee in your brew no questions about popping it in
