Brighton Unemployment Centre Families Project: A Beacon of Hope
The Brighton Unemployment Centre Families Project (BUCFP) is a true lifeline for families struggling in Brighton and Hove. This remarkable organization goes beyond just handouts, providing a holistic approach to tackling poverty and hardship.
BUCFP understands that food insecurity is just one symptom of a larger problem. That's why they offer a range of services like crisis support, advice on benefits and housing, as well as educational opportunities. Their warmth and respect for those needing help create an environment where people feel empowered to overcome challenges.
One of the most important things BUCFP provides is a sense of community. Their welcoming space and initiatives like their lunch clubs help combat the isolation and loneliness that often accompany poverty.
I've witnessed firsthand the difference BUCFP makes. From the practical lifelines of food parcels to the emotional support, this organization genuinely improves lives. If you’re in a position to donate, whether it's goods, money, or volunteering your time, please consider supporting them. It's an investment in creating a brighter future for the most vulnerable in our community.

This place is great and has a playroom for children run by Leslie. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are regular classes and rooms can be hired. They also help people who have benefits issues and there's a vegan meal served when the centre is open. It also has a computer room and people who are willing to help anytime if you are new to computers. The centre is open Tuesday to Friday and is also run by volunteers.
