My husband was cared for for 7 months in this home until his death. I cannot fault the staff, they were caring, compassionate and empathetic at all times with him and me. When he first went in the home was in need of refurbishment, but that is now well under way. The home did not smell from the carpark as another review said, the cleaners are constantly doing their job. All nursing homes with patients who have lost cognitive abilities and continence issues, have the problem with smell but it was quickly dealt with. I am pleased he went in there for the fantastic care he received from staff on minimum wage

The place is chaotic. Arrived for an appointment to see a relative to find used covid tests in the lobby.
Four people taking tests in a lobby only 8 x4 feet with a member of staff.
People shouting and screaming, two nearly fighting in the corridor. Staff administering medicine and trying to feed a patient whilst walking in the corridor.
One woman walking around with nothing on her lower half.
The care workers present appear to have little if any training and one didn't even know if my relative was even on that ward. It begs belief.
The patients room upon arrival smelt like a deodoriser had just been sprayed and within minutes the room stunk of a blocked drain.
The place could do with a good clean, it sticks of pee.

Where do I start with this so called care home, From day one off my grandmother going here she complained of the abusive staff at this care home. When we went to visit her she had unexplained injuries and was visibly upset. When we raised this the assistant manager we were told that she was lying! I wouldn't recommend this care home to anyone. When we went to visit there was smashed windows, residents with no bedding walking around unsupervised and naked! We WILL be reporting this to the necessary organisations. When we were visiting the care home the assistant manager smelt of alcohol. We will not be returning any time shortly.

I have nothing good to say about this disgusting dump of a place. Management are so unapproachable and you dare to open your mouth about an appalling lack of care and you get told to leave the building. Bearing in mind the place works with the most challenging of residents the staff appear to have next to no training or experience with no compassion. Residents neglected left in own faeces and urine day's old on clothes. Flies were swarming the bedroom when I visited and the smell was rotten. I've worked in care for years and no care home is perfect but how this place is allowed to operate is beyond any belief. The place needs to be shut down!!!

I went to visit a resident at this so called care home. Iv never witnessed a place so disgusting in my whole entire life absolutely stinking. Blue bottle flies swarming all over. You can smell the home as you are walking down the drive. Residents are highly neglected faeces days old on residents clothing. Manager is very rude and unapproachable. I’ve worked in care for 10 years and I’ve never witnessed anything so disgusting. This home needs shutting down if any of your family members are in here I suggest you keep a close eye on them. Wouldn’t even give this place 1 star I would give it minus if possible.

My mum has been in this care home since the beginning of the year and I have nothing but praise for all of the staff.
Balmoral Court has been the best move we ever made for mum, she's now happy and content and they have brought her out of the awful dark place she was in mentally for several months beforehand, without any change to medication, which is fantastic.
This home is spacious with several different types of rooms the residents are able to venture into giving everyone a sense of freedom.
It is "care" that matters most in my opinion, not fancy decor and chandeliers that we have experienced in the past and this is what comes first here at Balmoral Court... "care"
I cannot praise the staff enough, all our requests have been met and any teething problems resolved with immediate response.
The manager made a very warming comment that sums this all up... "This is your mum's home, so therefore it is your home. If you want a cup of tea, make a cup of tea, if you want to eat with your mum then stay at meal times"
This is a massive plus for me, as most care homes have strict policies where you feel you can't breath as a visitor. I must also add that whilst this is also "our home" Karleen runs a very tight ship and her prime concern is for that of the residents.
All the staff here work extremely hard and are all very approachable. I can travel home in the knowledge that mum is well looked after and content.
Dont be put off from other reviews, take a visit if your looking to get care for a loved one, I did and look at my mum now !!

Absolute joke of a care home would not trust them to look after a dog never mind someone I love. They where dismissive of complaints don't care about the people it is all about the money please beware and don't be sucked in by their talk because it is all flannel.

As an x employee I can tell you the residents are lovely and so are most of the care staff. Still, i wouldn't trust it. Definitely would not put any of my loved ones here.
