Disabled and single lady Asked for help to clear some rubbish from garden was advised by housing association that it was my responsibility to maintain my garden which is a huge and daunting task!!! The local council had no large waste collection service. Then the Dorchester volunteer centre said they were also was unable help remove any kind garden/household rubbish!! help and kindness then said they could provide the resources i needed when to my surprise I was met on my doorstep by a man from the volunteer centre whom turned up late and I was very shocked to find him trying to walk into my house!!? The man then proceeded to say he would take photos of what needed taking and somone would get back to me. He then sat outside my house for half an hour in a huge van that would be more than adequate for one trip to the local tip!!! I was then told after making numerous attempts to call in to find out find out what Out What was happening? to be then told that they couldn’t help. Being a singe disabled woman trying to get help to just move some rubbish has proved very difficult in this cost of living age where waste disposal company’s are far too expensive!!? After looking through the annual report they had recruited 3500 voulnteers in 2020/21 and that under the volunteer help scheme they had volunteers help with garden clearing moving item helping to keep people in their homes So why was I told they couldn’t help me
