Since we have loved here this place has been through a few incarnations but the food and service we received when we went there this weekend was by far the best and one of the most well accomplished Sunday lunches we have had - everyone finished their massive portions (see pictures)

The key lime pie was the only odd thing - the strawberry almost completely covered the lime taste but the pie was good without it.

A lovely pub, we tried the sharing boards and pizzas. The location is what stands out the most. Will definitely be returning to try the other food on the menu!

Food was amazing. Great big portions. I had the 3 meat roast & i couldn't finish it...although yorkshire pudding was more rubbery than crispy. Wasn't impressed with the added service charge on the bill for a 2 person table - even though we would have left a tip, it should be our choice.

September 2025 Update
So disappointed. I took a guest for dinner tonight for the "pie and a glass of wine" offer. It wasn't good.
1. My guest enjoyed his chicken, bacon and leek pie, although he mentioned that the mash was lukewarm.
2. I ordered the steak and red wine pie, it was very hot which was good however there wasn't much content to the pie.
3. The vegetables (mash and cabbage) were close to cold. I asked for them to be reheated which they did. Strangely not even warm.
As I was with a guest, plus I wasn't asked if it's ok, I didn't bother to try again.
4. The red house wine was the only one offered and it wasn't to my liking. I believe previously we were offered any wine available by the glass.
5. The original waitress kept away from the table after I requested the food to be reheated.bThen they added a service charge to the bill.

Basically it seems to have gone downhill and I shan't be returning.

We decided to have Sunday lunch at the Red Lion at Hunningham this weekend.
Situated in the countryside near a narrow bridge with a lovely stream.
Sadly it was pouring down with rain and very windy.
The interior was lovely and warm, cosy and bright.
The styling is wonderful and the separate areas allow you to choose what suits you best.
The middle area had a TV screen (sadly I dislike TVs when Im out eating).
We were seated in the side area which was better for us.
I had a few issues with the glasses of red wine but the staff were helpful and professional and I enjoyed the final glass thankfully.
My friend enjoyed her white pinot grigio wine.
We ordered the chicken and the beef.
WOW what a lovely plate full of food.
Must have been my unlucky day mine was tepid on arrival.
Again the staff were helpful and professional and the issue was swiftly resolved.
The food was lovely. Strangely I really enjoyed the way they cooked the cabbage. It gave it a really great flavour and texture. The roast potatoes and parsnip were crunchy and tasty.
Honestly we normally go to the Stag at Offchurch (no longer running) this was better.
Only improvement in my opinion is the gravy. However I could have upgraded, for a price, to the red wine jus.

Great interior, staff, wine and food.

Live local to here, in hunningham.
Is is a great pub, good food, but the service isn't the greatest, they run some great deals through the week, but I have no idea why they can't swap the alcoholic beverages for a cheap soft drink. Most people have to drive here and want to be the designated driver and not have a drink. Asking to swap the drink, I got a response as if I was a mad man and the alcoholic beverage was a good deal.
Other than that great pub, just can't see why they can't be more open to others.

I hadn't been here for over 40 years, having last played cricket in the field at the back. Sadly the cricket seems no more.

Anyway, the food is amazing. Top quality, and I would order with confidence . Not so convinced by the drinks.
Service was relaxed.
Great venue and food quality is the real selling point.
