Have missed my regular medication now for almost 4months as can't get an appointment, can't speak to anyone, can't get a prescription. This is an absolute disgrace. Babylon was excellent. I need to find a new GP. This is the equivalent of having no GP.

It is absolutely disgusting what eMed did to Babylon and the people involved in that decision making process should be ashamed of themselves.

Babylon was great - you could go in, choose a convenient appointment and speak easily to a GP over a video call. eMed came along, moved everything to the NHS app and now you can't even make an appointment; it literally says no appointments available. I have never in my life experienced such a downgrade in the quality of a service.

This practice provided appalling service, warranting this review after a two-day cooling-off period.

Following a telephone consultation on the 6th May and a nurse-designated urgent need, my earliest appointment was scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th at 14:15. I arrived promptly at 14:05 to check in and waited. By 14:25, there was still no sign of being seen. At 14:35, a staff member informed myself and another waiting patient who had arrived before me, that the doctor was delayed and not even in the building.
Consequently, I had to leave at 15:00 for another appointment, having wasted nearly an hour beyond my scheduled time, and almost three hours in total with travel. The receptionist I then spoke with (lady with tattoos) was unaware of the situation and displayed a standoffish, unacceptable attitude. The offered reschedule was for Tuesday the 20th, which was inconvenient due to starting a new job.
My request for escalation to be seen sooner was met with a promise of a call from the Practice Manager, which I am still awaiting for and doubt i will get! No apology was offered, and I felt as though my concern was viewed as an inconvenience to the reception team.
The waiting room prominently displays signs demanding respect for staff, yet the practice showed no reciprocal respect for patients.
Upon leaving without rebooking (expecting the promised call), I received a text stating the appointment was canceled due to 'clinician absence.' This entire experience was incredibly frustrating and completely avoidable.
If the reception team knew of the clinician's absence beforehand, why was no proactive call made to prevent my unnecessary journey?
My next urgent appointment is now scheduled for May 28th, two weeks later. I sincerely hope for a significantly more positive experience with both the clinical and reception staff at that time.

The way they make people who are ill sign themsleves into the surgery with a touch scree registration form is appaulling! While I love the convenience of gp at hand and being able to only come into a doctors surgery when I need to, and last time I was very ill. I had a fever and a chest infection. When checking in at reception for my appointment I was told to "check myslef in over there" very cheerily by the receptionist who then resumed her conversation with her mate. I felt like I was at deaths door and having to stand and finger type on an annoying touchscreen for even 5 mins was the last thing I needed, i genuinely needed to collapse in a chair as breathing was hard. Not to mention, when the person who could have done that for me was sitting right there!! Absolutely fuming about it !! Even now weeks later when im well again, im so mad at how compassion and empathy has been thrown out the door for efficency and let's face it, a bit of laziness.

An absolute nonsense “GP” even for “urgent patients”.
I ran WITHIN 10 minutes late (granted, my fault due to stupid Google maps misdirecting me) however Gp at hand stated it you’re OVER 10 mins late you may need to reschedule so I was within the timeframe of being seen. Anyway, I was within the 10 minutes and I was a supposed “urgent patient” due to my pregnancy. I was turned away nonetheless. I simply wanted a damn prescription, but no. The receptionists (whom whilst polite, not sure WHY they are there), could not understand me nor convince the doctor to see me for 5 minutes (even when the patient after me was still waiting to be seen), they also cannot check in for you (you need the screen) AND they cannot reschedule an appointment for you so I’m very clueless about WHY they are even there since they’re non-functional clearly. Then I call the help desk, they can’t do anything either so you have to start the process again when the doctor says “we can’t prescribe you anything unless you come in for a face to face” but it was a long journey for me and for goodness sake I am pregnant so I should’ve been seen quickly anyway.

Used to be great

Then we got migrated to the NHS app with next day appointments

Now we have nothing. The app is gone and the NHS app says 'talk to my GP' but emed says my gp is NHS app

Absolute terrible

It’s a shame about the recent reviews, I’ve been an NHS patient with this service for years and it can only be described as the only thing my taxes are good for - a few years back, same day appointments were common but since the pandemic everything has a bit of a delay but I’ve always been able to speak to a clinician at some point about any issue I’ve had.

Today was especially excellent, I had a call booked in the morning and was then sent a link to book a face to face appointment, I was lucky enough to find one available within the hour, I then attended that appointment, saw a very helpful and reassuring GP and was referred to a service. 2 hours later I get a call from the service booking me in for an appointment in 2 weeks time.

I know it’s not always this seamless but I was very impressed

Cancelled my appointment without warning or any notification. No email to cancel it despite the email I had confirming it. Travelled in for it and wasted a journey.

The whole service of GP at Hand has gone downhill so far on the last 5 years. It was outstanding when I joined. Now it is unusable. Best avoided. Go elsewhere.
