I moved into Chorleywood in 1975, and over the years I have seen CRA evolve into a non-political, non-partisan informative and helpful organisation, representing all the residents whatever their background. I have been particularly impressed with their dealings with the local Councils, holding them to account in matters affecting local people. As Secretary of the "Friends of Chorleywood House Estate" I have been grateful for their support in persuading TRDC to remove 100 metres of dilapidated fence along the A 404 boundary, and replace it with a more attractive alternative.

Very dissapointing. I wrote to the Parish Council enquiring why the ancient spring, The Swill which gave it's name to the Swllet 200 years ago, had been capped off. After 7 weeks of no response, I wrote again and received a curt reply that it was none of their business so try the water co. I thought that the heritage of Chorleywood was the responsibility of the Parish Council - but alas, no more it seems.

Such unstinting dedication to keeping Chorleywood residents informed and lobbying on their behalf. The village would be a very much less enjoyable and more challenging place to live without the association's hard work.
