Apart from one person on reception who was actually lovely and helpful who unfortunately I never saw there again, all my other experience with the receptionists in this practice is that they rude, ignorant and have a superiority complex.
Last visit with sick child yesterday, I wasn't even looked at in the eye whilst being spoken to in an extremely rude manner. We were only checking in for an appointment after the doctor asked us to come to surgery on a telephone consultation.
I do not understand why a doctors practice would have these ill-mannered people as the first point of contact in an environment that should have compassion.
Having said this, every doctor and nurse practitioner whom we as a family have dealt with at the surgery has been excellent, thorough, helpful and understanding Such a shame the administrative staff let it down.

Have been with this practice for over 40 years and never had an issue with them. Yes, you need to queue up outside at 8.30 to get an appointment, but that is down to growing population, which has doubled in that time and a lack of GPs generally. Moodiesburn alone has a population of over 7K and there are 6-10 doctors, 3 dispensing practitioners and 3 nurses. Factor in other communities to see the pressure...

People are living longer, so need more medical care. There's only so much they can do and my family and I have always been well looked after by them

How can a GP practice not have a functioning call queue? This is such a simple thing to add and would solve so many problems. Seriously?

I feel the service provided by the surgery now will cause major illnesses and I am desperate to leave. To say you called 250 times to make an appointment to have a routine blood test is no exaggeration.
It's frustrating to the point of waiting until something is truly a terrible medical issue before going through the awful experience of trying to get an appointment.

I always see a lot of negative reviews re the practice, however the times I’ve used them they’ve always been pretty good to be honest. Yes appointments times are ridiculous and can be a week, however I have also had the doctor do same day calls and appointments for me for urgent issues.

If I could give no stars I would. The receptionists need to have a serious talk with themselves and stop denying the people of Moodiesburn trying to see the GP. They can't book appointments and only tell you to call back in the morning at half 8 (have they tried to get through to themselves, it is impossible because they tell everyone to call then) I can honestly see why Jamieson Medical Practice was voted one of the worst in Scotland.

Awful service to the point that the receptionists in my opinion try to play God with appointments. I was advised by the GP to get an appointment booked in within a two week period to see the practice nurse and if I had any issues getting an appointment, I should ask the receptionist to speak to the GP to confirm an appointment. Well after doing this the receptionist still advised me that there was not any appointments available and that I was to call the following morning in the cue with everyone else (this obviously does not confirm if I get an appointment or not!). I then asked to speak to the practice manager who was just as rude and a bully, to the point I had to put the phone down. The practice manager didn't even ask me any details of why I was requesting an appointment which I find most concerning of all.

I tried calling again to complain about their actions but I got the impression that they did not want me to speak to higher levels nor did they advise me who I could speak to, I just got told that the practice manager will send me a complaints form!

This is not the first time I have tried to get an appointment with Jamieson Medical Practice. I was going on holiday to the Far East and I called the practice at least two plus months before my holiday to get the required vaccinations and yet again each time I called there were no appointments available, even when I called first thing in the morning when they got released. Its only when I said that do I have to go on holiday and possibly come back to the UK with an illness did I get an appointment just before my holiday.

I will be taking these issues up now at a much higher level as I am sure there are many people that just accept their (in my opinion) bullish behavior.

I am a great believer in the NHS and what they stand for, but practices such as this really let it down.

Not fit for the number of patients registered. No ability to make appointments in advance, and you can only call up on the day. No proper caller queue so you're dialling, engaged tone, hang up, repeat. If you can't get through after 15 minutes, give up because all the days appointments are gone.
The doctors themselves vary like any surgery. Some really try and help, and others just prescribe a months worth of painkillers to get you out in under 5 minutes. Moodiesburn is vastly growing with new housing developments every few years but this place is running like it's still a small mining village.
