Tried to use this practice to seek mental health help at 17. Was completely dismissed, leading to an extremely severe and catastrophic mental breakdown. Soon after, I went to university and registered with the GP there, and for the first time I was heard. Immediately. It didn’t take excessive phone calls and waiting lists and referrals. I registered there, explained my condition and next thing you know I’m being offered multiple real medications and therapies. I genuinely never knew it was actually that easy to receive actual treatment.
After graduating, I registered here again, and quickly realised that before, my standards were so low because I didn’t know that the poor services here weren’t normal! I reached out for mental health help here, stressing the absolute severity of my condition, and explaining i’ve tried multiple treatments. And I didn’t get any acknowledgment at all. All I was told to do was contact 111. I’ve contacted 111 multiple times before, it’s not a substitute for real help from your GP. After experiencing what it’s like to receive normal care, I realise the services provided at this GP are truly appalling. I wasn’t even spoken to about my situation at all. I haven’t even had one appointment here yet and I’m already switching to a different service.
This place needs a lot of work.

This is such an appalling surgery it's unbelievable if I could give it no stars I would. As someone who has been here a couple of times from a decent local surgery for blood tests it is very clear the whole place is totally mismanaged. The receptionists need better management and retraining for a start. It is ridiculous to have a queue of people waiting while all receptionists are on the telephone making people late for their appointments. Not everyone can sign in for their appointments on the electronic one if they aren't from practise, they should know this as they have blood tests for everyone. Everyone in the queue is agreeing how completely awful the practise is. My mother sadly is signed up here. She has been completely unable to get an appointment, they make it completely untenable for people. They probably kill off more people this way tbf. When my dad was poorly they made it difficult until consultants got involved when he had heart failure. While I was there 3 people came in and complained about something. As someone who is at a good surgery, this seems almost third world. I wouldn't sign up here unless you absolutely have to because once you do no other better local one will take you as you're in area.

I was seen promptly at my appointment times, which further enhanced the overall quality of care. The service I received was nothing short of brilliant, and I am truly grateful for their dedication. Getting one star because there isn’t a minus star option!
Absolute disgrace of a surgery, rude unhelpful receptionists, they just want to pass you on to other services at every single opportunity .
Zero patient care, zero empathy & zero accountability for their actions.
Don’t even read their own triage forms that they set themselves.
Should be knocked down .

Since this review, despite a meeting with the Thorndike receptionist manageress & Maureen the surgery supervisor I’ve been struck off due to writhing this review and reporting them to our local MP.
Maureen actually apologied to me after our meeting regarding the receptionist managers behaviour, said she was unprofessional and could now see what patients have to endure when dealing with the practice.
I know Thorndike monitor these reviews.

This surgery is very difficult to schedule an appointment with. Sometimes you can get scheduled at a date that is much later but only after conducting an e-consult form. Sometimes all you get from the e-consult is that they are not accepting appointments. My last one was a sore throat and I was sent a text after the e-consult that said they have no appointments and to call 111 or go to A&E. That’s a waste of NHS time and money. Once you have submitted an e-consult, you have no record of what you sent so if you do get an appointment, you have no idea which e-consult the appointment is for. Granted, once you actually make it in to the surgery, most of the doctors and nurses are really good., but I was told that they could only see you for one think at a time. What a waste of everyone’s time. God forbid that 2+ things are symptoms of the same illness. They never got my details entered correctly so I could use the app. I asked for help with that face-to-face 5 times but all they would do is give me another code to log in with. The codes didn’t work because they entered my information into the system incorrectly. I never got that resolved so, I changed providers as soon as an opening was available. They were still sending me notices of appointments after I left. I called and found out that they kept me on their books after I changed. Also previously, I needed a colonoscopy due to positive test results for risk for cancer. The doctor attempted to do one but could not and I was told I needed a scan one, but I never got Thorndike Surgery to schedule it (even after completing an e-consult). I cannot recommend this surgery to anyone if they have an option to go somewhere else.

Incorrect date messaged to me. Turned up for my appointment after leaving work early. Receptionists (one in particular) was very off, couldn't have cared less and had a horrible attitude.

Been here as my last doctor removed me from there books as I hadn’t been in 3 years. Had a couple of blood test as of late trying to get results is near on impossible. When I called number 1 in the queue 57 mins later answered the phone pretty useless. Also appointments are usually 3 weeks away bad doctors avoid

Managed to get a blood test within the hour friendly staff. Only one person in the waiting room so unsure why people find it difficult to get appointments. We need more GP'S and less red tape in the NHS
