EMA Patient Transport were at this lovely nursing home last week, where we transferred a resident who unfortunately was suffering from dementia. The staff at the nursing home were outstanding throughout the process and the nursing home is superb!

What a lovely place, could not have wished for anywhere nicer for my dad to spend his last few months.
He loved it there and everyone that looked after him.
On behalf of all of the family we would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff.
Nothing was ever a problem and you made what was a very difficult time that much easier, bless you all from the Elkington family xxx

My mum has lived happily at Alverstoke House for the last couple of years. The staff are professional and kind. They have spent time getting to know her likes and dislikes, her capabilities, her medical and emotional needs as well as getting to know her as a person. She is treated with dignity and humour.
Mum especially enjoys the various activities on offer, getting involved with most things. She also likes the food and the opportunity to go out into the garden or sit by the pond.
As a relative, I feel happy in the knowledge that my mum is happy, safe and receiving good care.
In normal times, Alverstoke House is part of the local community with many visitors coming in to do different activities with the residents. This has obviously had to stop to keep everyone safe at the moment.
I would happily recommend Alverstoke House to anyone needing care for a loved one.

I dont know what to say. For the most part the home was amazing: the manager listened to what I said, they adapted to suit my mum's needs, the food was really tasty, the staff kept bringing her drinks, ect. However the night staff weren't nearly as good and they were rough with her several times when it came to changing her or taking her to the toilet, despite her begging them to stop pulling on her or being so violent. Apparently one of them went to hit her once which I can honestly believe with how often the night carers neglected her. My mum says there were four night staff that were neglectful so please bare this in mind before considering this place.

Also: the hallways are tiny and it's nearly impossible to push a wheelchair through it, the single rooms are the size of a bathroom and they dont come with tv's (which means you constantly hear the buzzers beeping and other patients because of how thin the walls are), they share one commode upstairs between 12 people, and there was one patient who kept screaming and it was disturbing the whole of upstairs (I know it's not her fault but it's ridiculous that the staff didn't resolve this quickly considering it was affecting so many patients). And there were only two recliner chairs in the whole of the home (which is silly considering most people relax with their legs up or they have medical requirements to keep it raised).

A lot of the staff try their best and you can tell which ones are passionate about their job however you can tell who does it for the money. The worst part is how they only mistreat her when she was alone or vulnerable at night and it's not fair. I wouldn't recommend this care home until they fire those nurses- thankfully I'm lucky my mum told me because some people would be too embarrassed to mention being neglected, so be mindful if you choose this place whether it's right for you or someone you know. It's a shame because almost all of the day staff were lovely and kind so it's honestly the night staff that were the biggest let down about this place- that and it's not suitable for anyone who needs a wheelchair due to how tight the corridors are.
