8 Samphire Padstow / Harbour Holidays.
Expensive luxury apartment. Arrived to find a beautiful apartment with lovely views.
Unfortunately, when operating the venetian blinds enclosed within the bi-fold doors the external, metal, pulley came crashing down on to my Rayban spectacles scratching the middle of the right lens. The cost of replacement, quoted by my optician, is £197.50. There were no warnings that this could happen and I suppose I was lucky to be wearing glasses and so avoided injury to my eye.
Mid holiday sheets and towels to be changed. Stripped double bed to find mattress on upside down! It had a zip which I had felt in the night and thought strange. Decided to turn mattress over to correct side only to find a 2 foot circular horrible brown stain in the centre of the mattress. Obviously the mattress had been turned over to hide the stain from unsuspecting clients. It was resolved by the cleaners washing the mattress cover, but I felt traumatised to think that I had been sleeping on such a filthy mattress and that someone had tried to hide it from guests. I did not take a photograph of the stain but the cleaner did and he also sent them to Harbour Holidays. I have asked for copies several times but Harbour Holidays have ignored my requests.
I contacted Harbour Holidays expecting some financial compensation and an offer of £200.00 was made, enough to cover the cost of a replacement lens but nothing for my disgust at sleeping on a filthy mattress for one week. Since I pointed this out they have ignored me and I haven't heard any more and have not received any financial compensation not even the £200.00 originally offered.
Very disappointing from what I thought was a reputable company who, I hoped, would ensure that their luxury apartments were pristine

We'd highly recommend staying here, Fantastic host - kindly left out a range of breakfast options. were made to feel comfortable and relaxed, the cottage was on a lovely street in Padstow, perfect location for the centre and all the shops and restaurants. we'd book here again before looking anywhere else, the room is spacious and very clean to a high standard.
