One of the smaller National Trust properties, open 3 days a week 2pm - 5pm.
A lovely house, both inside & out, but the rooms are quite small to manoeuvre around. This can cause a slight problem when busy, which it was when we visited.
As the weather was pretty iffy, we didn't get to enjoy the grounds, but we hope to visit again on a drier day.
For the necessary tea & cake stop, there is an outside (partly covered) café, serving a variety of treats, one being a cream tea, which was delicious.

Been wanting to visit for ages but never seems to be open when I'm in the area. So really pleased to manage a visit this time. A very small NT property but so much character. Every room had a guide who was very knowledgeable and wasn't afraid to tell you all the history and answer questions. Garden's also small and not horticulturally of interest but climb up the terraces as high as you can and you can see for miles towards Bristol and the hills. You only need an hour or so to see everything but it's worth it. Only drawback is the noise from the M5 but there's othing you can do about that.

Quite a nice example of medieval clash Victorian home ,friendly knowledgeable guides throughout, good portion of the house is available to explore, with some nice collections of glass, nice garden and good exhibits of antiquity, I wouldn't suggest it's wheelchair accessible but I could have missed access points.

Stunning and intimate National Trust property. The family still reside here so limited opening times as the family obviously want to enjoy and preserve their home. Limited car parking spaces - mostly on grass. Toilets available however I didn’t see any wheelchair friendly toilets but I might have missed them!…wonderful gardens …highly recommend this lovely place
