I have just had the pleasure of visiting The Hawthorns retirement village in Clevedon, and I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with this exceptional community.

The facilities at The Hawthorns are top-notch, offering everything residents need to enjoy a comfortable and fulfilling lifestyle. The grounds are meticulously maintained, and the common areas are both elegant and inviting. Whether it's the cosy lounges, the well-equipped fitness centre, or the delightful dining areas, every space is designed with the residents' comfort and enjoyment in mind.

What truly sets The Hawthorns apart, however, is the incredible sense of community. During my visit, I had the chance to meet many of the residents, and it was clear that they genuinely love living here. There’s a vibrant social calendar filled with activities and events that cater to all interests, fostering strong bonds and lasting friendships among the residents.

I was also deeply impressed by the dedicated and compassionate staff, particularly Aggie, who showed me around. They go above and beyond to ensure that every resident feels valued and cared for, addressing their needs with professionalism and a personal touch. It’s evident that the team at The Hawthorns is committed to providing a high quality of life for everyone who calls this place home.

The Hawthorns in Clevedon is truly a gem, offering a perfect blend of luxury, care, and community. If you’re considering a retirement village that truly feels like home, I wholeheartedly recommend The Hawthorns.

I was looking for somewhere for my mother to stay and I contacted The Hawthorns. We were shown round and given lunch by Aggie, who was very polite and helpful. My mother and I were really impressed with her approach and with the wonderful facilities offered at The Hawthorns. Aggie went out of her way to accommodate our needs and arrange an apartment for my mum.

Mum immediately felt at home and was made to feel really welcome by all the staff. Lucy and Sam on reception were very friendly and helpful, dealing with initial settling-in questions, and Aggie - despite obviously being very busy - was always courteous and helpful in responding to my questions. She checked in on my mum to see how she was settling in and obviously cares deeply about the comfort and wellbeing of the residents.

I spoke with other residents who all said how much they enjoyed living at The Hawthorns. They explained how safe they felt, how friendly the staff were and how much they enjoyed the wonderful meals.

My mum seems to have taken on a whole new lease of life. She has made new friends and acquaintances and says she is very happy and much more active than before she came to The Hawthorns.

The location on the seafront is marvellous and the grounds very well cared for. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a happy and comfortable retirement.

My parents moved to The Hawthorns Clevedon 8 months ago and we are all so pleased they did. It is a delightful place for them to make their home in the latter years of retirement.

The meals are always excellent quality and the service in the restaurant and throughout is outstanding. There is a really warm and friendly atmosphere, which I believe is due to the lovely team of dedicated staff. Everything at The Hawthorns is run in a calm, efficient and friendly way.

It is such a blessing for Mum and Dad to be free of the responsibilities that normally go with running your own home: meal preparation, including the weekly shop, washing up, cleaning, gardening, keeping on top of the bills, they only have the inclusive monthly rent bill and a few others like the TV licence to sort out. They now have the time and energy to do the things they really want to do - going out for a stroll along the seafront or around the grounds is a favourite. And there are plenty of weekly activities to join in to keep them both mentally and physically active, as well as enjoying a nice cuppa socially with other residents in the cafe.

It's always a pleasure to visit my parents at The Hawthorns and to see how much they are enjoying their stunning new home by the sea.

Visited along with my mum and other family. Had a full tour and lunch in the dining room. Hugely impressed with everything we saw and we have added my mums name to the waiting list.

Especially impressed with Aggie and her team who are all so enthusiastic and keen to deliver the best service possible. Quality of food was first class.

The Hawthorns is a very special place. Making the initial decision to change ones surroundings or lifestyle can be very worrying, but from the very first call, Aggie and the whole team have been so kind, understanding and helpful, and have made the transition to a retirement village so simple and smooth. For my father in law to still have independence but to feel safe and without the stress of todays world, is just wonderful. A fantastic location by the sea, with beautiful gardens, it is very peaceful and has a real sense of community. And the food is delicious!! My father in law is so happy at Hawthorns and we cannot thank Aggie and the team enough for all their support and guidance, and for looking after us so well. Thank you!

I have been doing zumba for the residents at Hawthrons Clevedon for over 18 months. I
Look forward to coming and being welcomed by the friendly staff and a warm welcome from the residents. I often get new faces and regulars that come back week after week. When I first started we were doing half an hour exercise and we are now doing it an hour weekly with many residents. I have noticed how they have become fitter and stronger and more mobile through doing this. Even the staff join in at times!
Hawthorns is a fantastic community and always welcoming to all. I would highly recommend in all aspects.

A Retirement Home That Feels Like A Real Home: A Grateful Son's Perspective on The Hawthorns

When my parents moved to The Hawthorns nearly 7 years ago, I was immediately struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Now, having experienced the care and support provided by the staff first-hand, I can confidently say that this retirement home is truly exceptional.

From the wide range of activities, including opera and ballet performances, magic shows, and crafting workshops, to the frequent outings, there's always something to keep residents engaged and entertained. The food is delicious, (shout-out to Tony below!) with plenty of options to suit all tastes, and the coffee lounge provides a lovely space to socialise or enjoy some quiet time.

What really sets The Hawthorns apart, though, is the staff. Their dedication and care for the residents is unparalleled, and they always go the extra mile to ensure everyone feels comfortable and happy. It's always dangerous to mention names, but in particular, Steve, Allison, Sam, Lorraine, Lucy, Aggie, and Tony deserve special mention for their exceptional service.

Since my dad's passing, the staff have been incredibly supportive of my mum, providing her with the care and attention she needs. It's clear that they genuinely care about their residents, and that makes all the difference.

In addition, the location is ideal, with beautiful coastal views and easy access to nearby amenities. Overall, I highly recommend The Hawthorns to anyone who's looking for a retirement home that feels like a community and provides top-notch care and support.
