The Lyneal Trust Charity are fantastic . They operate several fully accessible to wheelchair boats including the “Lady “ which we recently went on a day trip with neighbours. The skipper and crew were great, even letting several of us man the tiller !
Full day out and almost great weather, well worth it.
Give them a try if you’re trying to think of a different day out, especially if there’s a wheelchair user involved.

Great experience on a boat trip organised through Whitchurch (Shropshire) Walking Festival in May 2024 - - comfortable seats, toilet facilities and coffee made and also a lift for those with mobility issues - hope to be back

Booked the canal boat 'shropshire lady' for the day for elderly passengers with limited mobility. Was perfect. Could not recommend it highly enough. Passengers have asked to book again as they enjoyed it that much. Volunteers that ran the day were exceptional. Right level of personable and professional (Michael and Andy). Booking was easy and straightforward with Carole.

We hired the Shropshire lady today as my mum was 85 and grew up in Lyneal. The day was lovely thankyou to the lyneal Trust and all the volunteers for all the work you do the experience was excellent.

I can't sing the praises of the Lyneal Trust enough. The narrowboats are highly maintained and very well looked after. All the volunteers I have met or spoken too are very friendly and knowledgeable, Nothing is too much trouble. Many thanks to each and everyone of you for keeping the cog well oiled. It's a 10 from me.

A fantastic facility for disabled people. Enjoy a trip along the wonderful Llangollen Canal and experience some of the best countryside and wildlife in the UK. You can book a day boat or week boat, or alternatively you can stay with family and friends at the Canal side cottages, and enjoy this quiet picturesque village in North Shropshire.

Stayed in the cottage and chalets... Had the best time with all the family.
Beautiful scenery and the volunteers are marvelous.
We hired a canal boat for the day which we all enjoyed.
Will be booking for next year for sure
