Website is incredibly difficult to navigate - there is little to no information relating to help for anxiety/ symptoms. Despite being a 'charity' the website pushes for your Membership and you have to pay for any services, support, or information. AWFUL.

I attended the Anxiety management Course and wanted to share some points I feel relevant to those looking to book a placement.

If Social Anxiety and interacting with others is an issue, please be aware than Anxiety UK require cameras on during all Zoom calls - A small detail not included prior to booking and course is non refundable.

Prior to first meeting the Zoom log in changed and I was left trying to locate correct log in credentials to access the Zoom class resulting in a poor first impression.

During the session I shared my anxiety is based in racist views, attitudes of others and how this impacts my day to day. This point was quickly dismissed as being a ‘non issue’ when this is an increasingly visible and very real issue in today’s society. Many a study has been completed in factoring racism and unconscious biased as a source of anxiety in many aspects for PoC in their day to day lives. I was horrified the manor in which the host skirted around the topic, offered no other solution other than to ‘join a group’ (didn’t really expand on this closed response) and said they would send details after the course, which they didn’t.

It was such a pitiful response that another attendee felt it necessary to jump in to offer support in the way of reading material, acknowledged my shared experience and anxiety.

Course really isn’t fit for purpose in todays multicultural society and diverse communities, very much based in common sense and mostly the same content you can find via their website only you are paying for the privilege of someone reading the slides. I have attend far more comprehensive courses which don’t ignore or dismiss the topic and instead encourage a healthy discussion and points of resource - something I feel the host was very ill equipped to offer.

AnxietyUK has been so helpful to me - I joined to access affordable therapy, though I was worried there might be a long wait list. This was absolutely not the case, and I was assigned a therapist super quickly! They were also super helpful when unfortunately our schedules didn't align, and I was matched with a therapist with availability that matched mine. I really recommend AnxietyUK to everyone- they also have fantastic group resources and I think it's really really helpful, especially if you can't afford private therapy and the wait lists in your area are too long.

Membership is really good, gives you access to a brilliant online counselling programme plus cheap access to weekly support groups. Also allows you affordable access to counselling. Really supportive environment.

Very nice to know this support is out there as quite often hard to actually get an opportunity to speak to someone in person these days. Had my first session last week and so far so good. Very happy with the way things are going so far and also pleased with how smoothly it was set up and assessed as to what I was after and a service that fitted around my work and life balance.

Through a period of some significant challenge, the services offered by Anxiety UK has been fantastic, and whilst there is a long road head, progress is positive and forward.
I’m extraordinarily grateful for the help and support during a challenging time, both to the Anxiety UK and my Professional Institute, The Chartered Institute of Building and their respected benevolent fund.
I'm about a third the way through a 16-week program and the benefits and rewards are already coming through.
Thanks again, eternal appreciation.

For this I am forever grateful and will without a doubt use their services if needed again in the future.
Thank you so much.

These guys do great work and are helping so many of us. I'm having 1 to 1 sessions with one of their CBT Therapists and attended my first group session on Tuesday which was really interesting, to be with others in the same predicament and share, was great.
