We recently toured Aspen Manor for a place for Mum (she's struggling with dementia) and they were all very friendly and helpful. We had a tour around the building and I can honestly say it is one of the best care homes I have ever seen. All of the rooms have been beautifully designed and there has been a lot of thought put into the whole experience, especially for Dementia care, so we decided to move her there and she is loving it. I would certainly recommend Aspen Manor to anyone needing residential, dementia or nursing care.

My Grandmother was a resident here for over a year, she was so well cared for and happy. I cannot fault the service, from the food, to friendly warm staff and beautiful home! Highly reccomend if your looking for a luxury care home in Oakham!

What a beauty! A luxury care home, so much visual appeal! Located in the serene Rutland Community, it provides a broad range of services: care home, nursing home, residential home and for Dementia patients. Luxurious spacious rooms, very amiable staff and management, generous car parking. Sited in a choice cul-de-sac, just behind a large Lidl store, it's perfect, safe and convenient. My uncle had a lovely stay here. We looked at several homes for my uncle but as soon as we visited Aspen Manor, we knew it was the right one. The staff were always so friendly, attentive and warm. I also think the activities they provide are so good and varied - there is something for everybody. Would definitely recommend Aspen Manor Care Home to all.

My parents moved to Aspen Manor in December 22. Mum moved into an adjacent 'independent living flat' in Anna Court after two months. Unhappy with the situation each of them found themselves in, we removed them both to another care home in June 23.

The care Dad received at Aspen Manor was consistently below standard - particularly with regard to fluid intake, skin integrity and personal hygiene - and despite our best efforts and the reassurances from managers that our issues and concerns would be addressed, things did not improve.

Poor Mum 87, wanting to get into the home to visit Dad was endlessly kept waiting - despite living next door, and with her spouse in the home, they refused to give her the access code. Family visiting in the evenings at at weekends was a joke - gaining access took ages as reception wasn't staffed and carers had to leave the care floor to let us in - which was a problem when the care team were already stretched.

Poor access was only one of a myriad of things that were wrong with how this care home was operating. I am pleased to see that CQC have flagged it as needing improvement. I hope this will result in raised standards.

I have left it 6 months before submitting my review, because I hoped I would grow to realise that Aspen Manor were trying their best and that our expectations were unrealistic, but alas, Mum and Dad's new care home have demonstrated that Aspen Manor could be a whole lot better..... It's a great shame as it is beautifully appointed and I believe many of the staff mean well.

I can’t praise this care home enough! My grandfather was here in his last few months of life and nothing was ever too much for the staff, their knowledge was of high standard and I always felt at ease that he was in the right hands to be cared for. Another review I have seen says training isn’t adequate which is complete nonsense as I had found out the home are undergoing training for the end of life gold certification. I never once felt that they didn’t know what they were doing.
I couldn’t have chosen a better home for my grandfather and will be singing the praises of all carers/nurses involved in his care.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Typically I don’t like to leave negative reviews but after weeks of trying to calm down and trying to rationalise the situation, I still find myself annoyed with this establishment. My mum came in for respite for a week and we had such high hopes. Such a beautiful care home boasting of so many facilities and activities, none of which my mum got to use or was even offered. Painfully understaffed and staff that were, there spoke very limited English. She had one shower in the whole week she was there. The care was below par and I will not bring her back here. Think twice before considering putting your loved ones here.

This home looks the part and some of the staff are well intentioned. However, the attention to detail and the quality of the care given to the poor souls that live there is lacking. Staff don't seem to have the knowledge, experience or training needed to do the job. Getting into the home outside of office hours requires a 10 or 15 minute wait.
