Previous patients blood on mattress , actively cutting whilst in there , I had to phone and tell them my loved one was hurt so lack observation. Had to phone and ask for loved ones medication to be given . Waited 9 hours to see loved one the morning after sectioning and wasn’t allowed . They use threatening cancelling leave and injections for not following their orders . Some , not all of the staff are non sympathetic lack empathy and down right rude. Lock patients out of their rooms and don’t respond when they knock on door and ask for help .
Loved one reported another patient asking them to sit with her until she fell asleep as she was scared and they laughed at her .

Wait was a bit long considering being in a crisis however Max and Esther were both wonderful and attentive. Made me feel comfortable and at ease and not rushed in the slightest. They reffered me to a certain place that have been supporting me and i genuinely want to thank them for putting me in the right direction!

Mental health unit needs to be closed down. How can you tell patients they have to stay multiple nights in a waiting room, saying that if you’re lucky you can have a room with a sofa late at night.

They have no training in neurodivergence, or anything by the seems.

Don’t expect this service to keep you safe, don’t expect to be cared for, expect to sit on a chair for over 24hrs sobbing with ur peers.

I mean met an awesome bunch of patients so could be worse.

One of the nurses refused to give blankets out over night, the door was wedged open and it was freezing, she justified this by saying that this is not a homeless shelter. Pretty sure freezing ur poorly patients is abuse…

If ur in crisis, stay strong, for every evil service there is a beautiful one.

Disgusting behaviour, they do nothing to help you just gives you sleeping tablets and send you on there way, these people are here for a reason. The staff stand there to lie to your face constantly shame on them. They all need sacking. They don’t do care about the people in there they don’t give a shit

The staff are genuinely caring and without the recent help of Dean and dr sony. They have diligence, patience and all the while having to deal with the most maniacal of society and I tip my hat to their work ethics. Dean was very good at understanding people while Dr Sony knew exactly what medication to prescribe.

Called crisis line asking for help, was honest , as hard as it was, and 1 month on no call back, typical of thsociety that we live in today!
10 years in "the mental health service" it is a joke!
Update: they finally called back! 10 months later.... told me I was doing the right and I had done all i could do (Fighting through the anxiety with my family), and that it was now down to them, been 4 months since that phonecall and still no help.. Mental health help in Basildon is a joke!!!!!!!!!

Honestly one of the worse psych wards in all of England, feels more like a poorly run prison than anything aimed at helping peoples mental state. The staff were mostly aggressive and couldn’t care less about any patient at all, most of them were also under qualified to boot. If if wasn’t for the other patients banding together to support each other throughout my experience here I would have ended up killing myself.

Stay away at all costs.

If i could give this place 0 stars I would.
Where do I begin the staff on Cherry Down Ward are so negligent and clearly
don’t care about patients. They speak to them with the upmost disrespect. They always act as if they’re doing the patients a favour instead of acting like they’re being paid to do a job. They will leave you on your own during a mental breakdown for HOURS on end and they don’t usually intervene or ask if you’re okay until you’re physically harming yourself. This place deserves to be shut down it’s an absolute joke and i’m not even sure how it’s still open and allowed to “care” for patients. If you care about your loved ones you wouldn’t send them here at all.
