We had a great walk here on my birthday! We used the AllTrails app for a circular route which took us about an hour of walking in total, plus longer to stop and take it the breathtaking views. If you are not from this area and live in a city then you will be shocked that the UK homes somewhere so beautiful. We felt like we had been transported to Canada or Germany with the towering pine trees and beautiful lake. Highly recommend a visit. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear as some parts were quite steep & rocky. And also bring a coat! It was sunny when we went but the wind definitely gets chilly.

Wonderful short easy hike with breathtaking views across the Hope Valley. Can see Chatsworth House Estate and fountain from near the Wellington monument. Rock formations and erratics very impressive.

Lovely place to hike ,unwind ,meditate.
Small parking space owned by National Trust nearby, van with coffee and snack often is there .
From parking space you can explore Cubar Edge, there are picnic areas(please take litter with you, and dog poo bags-there is NO bins , as National Peak District Park promoting NO littering ? policy).

For the last year I always find my way back to Baslow Edge. It has amazing views for miles, nature at its finest and before you could find yourself a few Highland cows. However due to the increase on social media the farmer made the right judgement of removing the herd for their own safety, I hope with people respecting the land they will again return as they are the heart of Baslow Edge. This is a pure scenic spot with parking close by or if you fancy a challenge there are other areas that loop in with Baslow and Cubar Edge. Either way it's always an enjoyable experience visiting this area and the kids love it too.

Gorgeous place, but be aware that there are no highland cows anymore (and havnt for years, despite the photographers recycling photos in the reviews here!)

Unfortunately a single dogwalker felt threatened by them and fought to get them removed. Such a shame but still worth a visit

Great place for a walk, we went up one Saturday and it wasn't too busy.

Cows roam the area, and the views are brilliant on a clear day.

Parking is convenient with a car park a 5 minute walk away. There is also a refreshment van located at the car park.

If you park at Curbar gap car park this is easily found within 10 minutes.
Do arrive early though as spaces go really fast, especially at weekends.
To find simply walk right out of the car park, down the road 200 yards, then turn left through the gate..
You then can access the edge within 5-10 minutes.
Beautiful views, and a fairly flat and easy walk.
Boots or wellies advised as paths are often rocky.
Not good for prams..
Dogs allowed.
You can walk much further walks from this point too.
