I stayed two weeks in spring at Beech Hill in the caravan in the field. The sound of the birds singing the dawn chorus will be unforgettable. Lovely and welcoming people. Pure nature and stunning surroundings, rivers and moors to visit easily from there. Perfect place for relaxing camping with outdoor kitchen and compost loos. I will come back ?

Great welcome at this friendly community—wish I could have stayed longer! The campsite offers a large covered outdoor kitchen, showers and composting toilets—all in a garden orchard setting. I loved hiking and biking the surroundings areas while I was there, but the camp site also could be a great rest stop whilst doing the Two Moors Way, as the trail is just at the edge of the garden. Morchard Bishop, with pubs and a cute shop, is also easy walking across the fields on public footpaths. Great memories of my stay. Hope to come back again!

My first experience as a volunteer has been, without a doubt, amazing! I spent the month of October 2023 there. I had never lived in a community before and they made me feel at home, we even celebrated my birthday! 🙂 I found it a very enriching experience from which you can learn a lot. They are very respectful of the environment and have a very austere lifestyle. They were also very patient and helped me with my English.
In the garden there are caravans where you can enjoy a wonderful experience and disconnect from your routine.

100% recommendable!

Beech Hill was my first introduction to community living. I volunteered there as a summer volunteer in 2022, and keep going back. The community is very loving, the location stunning, and the people incredibly warm. The volunteer program was thoughtfully designed, and we experienced some part of all the community put its time into. Above all, my time at Beech Hill has always provoked me to think deeply about all the ways available to us to organise our lives, the choices we make, and their implications. I can’t recommend a visit to Beech Hill enough.

A superb low-key campsite at an amazing intentional community with a camp kitchen, showers and compost toilets. Perfect for Two Moors Way hikers as it is right on the trail!
