We visit our 96year old mother who has been here since February 2018. The place is kept clean and the staff are friendly. It is under new management and is having a spring clean and being decorated at the moment. There are pleasant lounge areas where they have different activities. A hairdresser is available 1 day a week. The meals seem to be pretty basic, served in a dining area or in the rooms. It is not a nursing home, only residential.

Not.being from the area, we used Maps to locate Birchwood Care Home. Maps directed us to Elliot House half a mile away. Apparently, this is a known error....minus points for Google Maps

Lovely pleasant place from the outside. I have a huge respect for the staff that work here. They give there all and work long demanding shifts looking after and caring as well as getting to know the residents. Give them some slack when you pay your weekly/monthly visit thinking you know best when infact it's the staff that pretty much attend to there every need.
