We were very fortunate to be able to adopt these 3 beautiful sisters. The Blue Cross Rehoming Centre staff were absolutely amazing. They all went above and beyond to help us adopt the kittens. We wanted to say a massive thank you, and let you know the girls have settled in beautifully. Thank you all for your help and support. We would definitely recommend adopting from here ❤️

Cannot fault the team at Thirsk! They are all about the animals in their care, as much as they'd love every single one to go home with someone first time they put the animals needs first. If they need multiple visits with you then they will stick to that, if the animal is unsure a dog shows they are uncomfortable they listen to the behaviour and signals and respond accordingly. Everything with our adoption went so smoothly and when we came to collect our boy they made sure all paperwork was present and correctly filled out for both us and him. We're super lucky to have found our boy, and 10 out of 10 would adopt with them again!

A big thank you to all the team at Blue Cross Thirsk for helping me find and rehome Eddie. They have been so helpful with arranging for me to visit and eventually bring him home. I’ve had so much support with all my questions afterwards as well, it’s really comforting to know they are still there to help. They clearly care about all the animals they have there. Can’t recommend them enough.

Adopted Molly from the Thirsk branch of Blue Cross. Everything from the adoption process to getting her home was well managed. The foster carer that was temporarily looking after Molly left me a load of food, biscuits and Mollys favourite toys which I'm sure helped her settle. We have had her 3 days now and she already feels like one of the family. Blue Cross team did provide plenty of helpful links and info on how to introduce her to my other 2 cats which went successfully. Thanks

Staff fully understand their animals needs and personalities. They knew who would fit well with us and we were allowed to spend plenty of relaxed time getting to know our beautiful cats at the centre, to make sure it was the right fit for us and the cats. It already feels like Claudia and Gunther have always been here! So glad we came to vote cross for our new family members. Thanks again team for all your support and guidance

We adopted a dog from them that unfortunately had behavioural issues. Due to this he wasn't right for our lifestyle and we had to return him, but we gave every detail we could to ensure he could be matched with another right home. They even said they'd get in touch if they had more questions. We even explained if they couldn't find a new home we would take our dog back to prevent him being destroyed.

Since returning our pet they got in contact and told us he had been put down. They did not notify us and only waited two days.

I had the unenviable task of taking a GSD in for a friend who was moving aboard until they could find a place big enough to have him. After a year it was clear he wasn’t going to take him and no matter how beautiful the dog is, we can’t have a dog because we’re both at work now and don’t have anyone to look after him when we’re away. To add to this he suffers massive anxiety because he was in kennels for 2 years and can’t get over it.
The BC were brilliant. Their assessment and level of questioning quickly established he’s not fit for kennels and must stay with us while they look for a suitable place. They nailed the lifestyle the new owners would have to have to ensure the dog’s anxiety is under control. He doesn’t have a home yet but from the 15 organisations including HsD reduce and the 6 kennels we called, they are the only ones who have managed to know why he can’t be shoved back into a kennel until a new owner sees and wants him. I can’t thank you enough. Kudos.

They were so wonderful at this difficult time, giving my late Nana's cat a safe place to live until we can sort things out, or until a good family opens their home to him.

The facilities are super clean and tidy. No overcrowding. Our sweet cat has his own room with plenty of enrichment and places to hide or come out and play.

The staff were absolutely none judgemental and didn't rush things along. They were so good at letting us see where he's going to live for a while and take as long as we want to say goodbye.

From the beginning of getting in touch to even after he was surrendered, they've been in contact to let us know what to expect. There are some harsh realities that we had to understand and they were sensitive to this, such as not being able to get updates after he gets adopted. And they were always available for follow up questions

Can't rate them highly enough and a massive thanks to everyone there.
