Whinfell Shap Road is an exceptional residential care home in Kendal town. The four bedroom home has a warm comfortable atmosphere which provides a safe relaxing and private environment for the residents. The management team and care staff have a clear vision of the high standards that are expected. This is achieved through training support and dedication to meet the individual needs of each resident.

Speaking from the perspective as a parent, we feel incredibly lucky to have our daughter living at Whinfell Shap Road. Every parent of a young person with additional needs, is anxious that their young persons needs are met in a safe, kind, environment, where they can fulfil their potential.
Shap Road offers a client centered approach, meaning just that. Our daughter has a voice, she gets to make choices about her day and how she spends it.
The team are caring and fun and are motivated to provide the best home environment for our young people where they can flourish.

If you're looking to get into the care industry, then this is the place to be even if you have experiencethis is still the place to work in care. The staff are all loving and caring and will help you out as much as possible. The home is a lovely and homely place for the young adults who live in shape road there is no finer place for them to be. Management is always there to help you with any questions. Shape Road is in the heart of the lake district. There is always something for the residents to do to fit their every need to walking, swimming, climbing and boat trips on the lakes and various of other activities.

Our son lives at Whinfell Shap Rd, and we are very impressed with the care he receives there, and the careful planning that goes into his care, to make his life as happy and fulfilled as it can be. His routine is based wholly on person centred planning, playing to his strengths and interests, as well as giving him all the sensory input and regulation to successfully manage his needs. He plays a full part in the community he lives in and is valued. We have a great relationship with and trust of the staff and communication with them is excellent. We believe our son is in the best place for him and we are grateful.

For anyone wanting to get into residential care or thinking of changing provisions. This is the place for you, a welcome home for the residents supported by staff with a wide range of knowledge and experience. The aim of the home is to give its residents their best life and you only have to see the residents out in the community or interacting with each other around the home to see the affect Whinfell Shap Road has when quality care is delivered. Yes you could go to many providers in the area for slightly more money , but you would be missing out on the experience , knowledge and job satisfaction that comes with a role like this .
