Living at Canterbury Halls has been an amazing experience! The accommodation is modern, clean, and well-maintained, with spacious rooms and great facilities. The en-suite rooms provide privacy and comfort, and the kitchens are well-equipped, making it easy to cook and socialize with flatmates.

One of the best aspects is the friendly and supportive staff. From reception to the maintenance team, everyone is always ready to help with any issues, making the stay hassle-free. As a student, having a peaceful and secure environment is important, and Canterbury Halls offers just that. The location is also ideal—close to campus and local amenities, making daily life convenient.

The community atmosphere is another highlight. There are plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make friends, whether through social events or just casual interactions in common areas.

"A Home Away from Home!"

I absolutely love staying at this student accommodation! The rooms are incredibly modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed, making it feel like a true home away from home. The layout and amenities are perfect for both studying and relaxing, offering the ideal balance for student life.

Having Stayed at Canterbury Hall in Preston for the last 2 years, I can give a genuine impression of my time here. DON’T stay here if you a, drive and have a car or b, have a bike. The car park was £500 for the year (was then £400 when I complained about the state of it) and if I’m honest, I didn’t feel safe leaving my car there, nor did I feel safe walking round after hours. This has been made worse by the fact I had to walk around the new build construction site, although not far, if your carrying bags etc, it becomes tiresome, especially when others are taking advantage and parking right outside the door. (MANAGEMENT HAVE STATED THERE WILL

I also had my bike stolen from the property in my first year at Canterbury Hall. This was not my own fault, but of a fellow student who ‘couldn’t be bothered’ to lock the bike shed up, as a result, my bike lock was snapped off and bike stolen. The team at Canterbury Hall made me sort the insurance claim out myself, even though I has better things to be doing like studying. After doing the form, I was told that their insurance didn’t cover for theft of bikes and that it was left at my own risk. DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE TO PRESTON!!

I feel this like most student accommodation is a massive rip off and to be avoided! My degree was full time and I was in maximum 3 days a week, I’m sure a hotel would have been considerably cheaper than staying at Canterbury Hall.

The flat itself was appointed well for student accommodation or be it without a proper oven, so cooking food was difficult but doable, when I mentioned to management that it was a bit silly, they told me to use the communal oven, which to when you have paid for a self contained flat seems a bit of a con.

If you’re after peace and quiet, Canterbury Hall and Preston as a whole can be very noisy. Every morning at 06:45 AM I would be awoken to the sound of bin lorries and the constant sound of sirens from police cars, ambulances and fire engines, all have depots nearby. If you’re after a tranquil area, avoid Preston and Canterbury Hall. You will also feel vibrations from the buses and lorries going over sunken grids and pot holes adjacent to Canterbury Hall, this can be felt and heard through the whole building which questions its build quality.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend staying here, I’ve learned that if you use your initiative, the university experience can be done a lot cheaper, however, if your after the university experience then its good for your first year. But maybe consider alternatives first.

Canterbury hall is an exceptional accommodation, the staff and the occupants that live here are truly wonderful, each day as I take on the world the accommodation meets all my facilities and requirements and I really enjoy living here. The support system that Canterbury have in place to ensure international students like me, makes me feel so welcome and takes my mind of the sadness I have from leaving my family at home, but we also get to indulge in a lot of activities provided by Canterbury which is how I met so many of my friends and people that I now consider as family, all in all it is truly a wonderful and giving place and I see this place as my second home.

My experience so far is really good. The room looks exactly like it looks on the website, maybe even bigger. The stuffs are very very nice, I feel comfortable to go ask them for help when I feel unsure about something.
