The single worst bank I have ever interacted with. We're about to withdraw all our funds and leave it in the past. The majority of people I work with who bank with CAF have had similar experiences:

1. Old fashioned & Outdated in terms of policies, procedures & operations.

2. Team available by phone providing contradictory information, sound knowledgeable but unfortunately are not always, meaning delays of weeks at times.

3. Software/Technical side frequent issues/faults and due to their archaic nature, extremely limited options to resolve.

4. Team unapologetic when complaints raised, even in writing.

Avoid at all costs, any of the new banks are eager for your business and can facilitate international payments. You do not need CAF for the namesake alone, they provide nothing and still charge £5 per month despite interest rate rises. Appalling these savings have not been passed onto customers.

We've worked with CAF Bank on a number of development projects and found them to be first class. Their due diligence is naturally thorough but kept as streamlined as possible. The rates are competitive and half a percent of the arrangement fee is gifted back to a charity of your choice which is a nice touch. Please see pictures attached from the developments they've supported. Highly recommend.

Shocking, just shocking. It's like banking in the Victorian era, with the illusion of competency and competitiveness if you don't look too hard, or ask too many questions, and if you've never ever banked with another bank.

Do not bank with CAF, better a mattress. They're not working for your business. You, your organisation and your beneficiaries all deserve better. CAFs operations represent a risk to utilisation of funds for legitimate programmes. A complete waste of time when trying to resolve issues.

Having worked with CAF bank for a number of years we have found them to be personal , efficient and courteous. Spoken today to their customer service centre. Their operator Sharon Washer was friendly, well trained, highly efficient and answered all my stupid questions patiently and fully.

I have been been involved with charity work for over 30 years and although I have been with CAF for only a short time I have been overwhelmed with the help and politeness of the staff with whom I have dealt. Also I am very satisfied with the technology and the speed with which I can access my statements.
Along with my trustees I look forward to utilising your services and I can certainly recommend you to people looking for an efficient and friendly bank

Yet again the ability of our charity to work efficiently has been knocked by CAF whose over-zealous fraud staff put a 'compromised' marker on our account card for a perfectly sensible and repeated transaction. We have bought items online from this seller for years, using the card hundreds of times, but for some reason this time they decided it was suspicious but didn't bother to check the historic usage of the card. Now a new card is coming and we have to reset everything with our preferred providers. I spent over an hour this morning chasing them for an answer when I should have been helping people. This follows their last disaster when they cancelled a vital cheque to a beneficiary because we didn't return their call in less than an hour. CAF needs to learn that their actions have a knock on to some of the most vulnerable people in this country and when they foul up people don't eat - it's that simple. They routinely apologise for their errors but NEVER learn from their mistakes.

They get 2 stars for how helpful and courteous they're staff on the phone are.
But you have to wait a long time to even speak to any of them.
The process of changing anything on your charity banking mandate/users/system etc is so hard it beggars belief.
Then there's the fact that you have to use HSBC for highstreet banking stuff, which is not good.
I've worked for a major UK bank.
I've used 2 other major UK banks for both personal and business banking, which is why I'm in a decent position to say, 'Use another bank if you can'.

As Treasurer for a Charity / Scout Group, we have used CAF Bank for our main current accounts for the past 4+ years. Our reason for switching from the mainstream bank we were with previously, is they were unable to provide us with online banking that met our key requirement for dual authorisation. CAF's online banking ticks all the boxes for us, its made the management of our finances way more efficient and user-friendly, and CAF's customer service has always been top class. Everything that we could expect for the banking requirements of a charity like ours.
