There are so many amazing things to see historically. They have everything: a destroyer, a submarine, old military vehicles, equipment, and the RNLI lifeboat collection. We traveled for the Call the Midwife tour and could have stayed all day—plenty to see for all ages and many education opportunities.

Wonderful place to visit. All the staff are so friendly. The call the midwife tour is very good. If you buy a ticket, adults £25.50, you can go as many times as you want in a year. The ticket last a while year wow. Great day out.

This place is incredibly interesting. I had been told that it was expensive at £25 for an annual ticket but I think that this is amazing value as there are no further charges once you are inside. My favourite experience was the submarine but the rope manufactury runs that a good second. Not to mention the WW2 destroyer.

My second visit here. The first in the distant oast while it still had more of Royal Navy use and clearly many of the old buildings demolished and more open space tound the exhibits. The RNLI display of old lifeboats was incredible and I recognised an old Seahouses, Northumberland one I had seen in use in the 1960s. But the best experience was being able to walk through a submarine that had been built there and had been in active service for many years. The ticket lasts for a year so we will come again. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful

Lovely day out d
For all the family. Something for everyone from history and navel ships to the filming locations of call the midwife, there is even some very nice children's play areas too. Look out throughout the year as they have many interesting events that take place!

An amazing afternoon out, the ocelot tour was brilliant. Chris really knew his stuff and was friendly and welcoming.

Call the midwife tour was informative and enjoyable. Worth a visit.

Great place for all the family with lots to see from war ships to lifeboats from old buildings to the oldest working rope factory well worth the visit

Arrived today for what was hopefully a enjoyable day after a 100 mile drive only to have our day out cut very short due to a sad incident today after a body was discovered in the water area. The situation overshadowed what was hopefully to be a great day out with some amazing attractions. I don't blame the situation rather the way the site dealt with the situation. No information was given, we was hurried out of the site as they extended and extended the area of the search. The staff were poorly trained and very unhelpful. I don't want to take away the fact the site is an amazing place to learn history about our docks and development within the Navy and Ship Building but the staff really need to be better customer focused under the circumstances. Many family's, visitors were tossed out with out any real warning or apology. It's a sad incident that has happened and the emergency services had a job to do (I'm ex FF myself) but the site staff dealt with the event badly, well enough said. Looks like I'll be making the 200 mile round trip another day to complete my visit..
