This church is a must visit when in Shresbury.

This was a lovely church that had friendly volunteers who informed visitors about the rich history of the church. I heard stories about the stained glass and even learned the storyline behind some of the 'comic strips' on the glass. The volunteers were so incredibly kind and informative, giving food recommendations as well as directing us to other places we had to visit. The stories they told were interesting, and I would've loved to hear more if I had the time. It was also very cool in the church, which was a welcome compared to the terrible heat on the outside.

I was informed that this building is no longer a place of worship. A charity clothes shop was operating when I visited.
The building is a mix of architectural designs going back hundreds of years. Some very attractive medieval windows. Otherwise, you would need an expert to point out the history.

A beautiful medieval Gothic church with Norman features. Very nice architecture with wood carvings of angels, animals and a green man, plus amazing glass stained windows.
The staff were warm and welcoming and the place was well maintained.
A peaceful place and well worth a visit

A deconsecrated church now run by volunteers. Church is medieval but like many churches subject to much change over the years. The leaded glass windows are spectacular many of them brought back from Europe in the 1800s. The church boasts some 15th century Dutch roundalls.
The 15th century wooden ceiling is fantastic. Each angel is carved with a different instrument.
Well worth a visit made all the more enjoyable by the knowledgable volunteers. Free but please donate a fiver to keep it going....
Outside by the side door you will find grooves in the stones made by the men sharpening their arrows after church before they go to practice at the butts!

One of the thousand. Sales over wings, markets over masses are the order of the day today. Up close the stone is beguiling. Huge tower.

Excellent church, which sadly no longer has services on there, but is used for various events, such as the Shrewsbury beer festival. The stain glass window at the back looks very impressive. It's a 10 minute (approx) walk from the train station. Come out of it and turn left, up the bank. Check out what events are on!
