I have always considered Collingham Medical Centre to be above and beyond the standard of all the Newark surgeries but I’ve had two dreadful experiences over the past few weeks which have made me change my mind. Both involve an incredibly rude receptionist who refused to listen, talked over me on the phone, repeatedly blamed me for something that wasn’t my fault and repeatedly told me what I should have done. Perhaps the rest of the staff, who are kind, patient, helpful and go the extra mile to provide an excellent service could provide her with some much needed training.

The service depends entirely on who answers the phone. I experienced a very prickly response from a receptionist yesterday and suggest some training on communication and human interaction! Very poor. My initial contact was with a trainee who was clearly floundering. They should shadow the new staff. Instead, with no explanation, the phone was handed to Mrs snarky who had zero understanding of the conversation that had gone before!
That said it’s not always the case so it depends very much on which receptionist you have the fortune or misfortune to be on the receiving end of!

My daughter has been registered at the surgery for about 1 year now. The surgery aways answer quickly, arrange appointments and on a few occasions have gone above and beyond by even meeting me in the car park to escort my daughter straight into her appointment when she was extremely poorly. Highly recommend and extremely appreciate the high standard of care.

I was very disappointed recently after an annual review. I was expecting a chat about the blood results but no, so what was the point? With a lot of checking out coded entries on Google I just about managed to figure out what I needed to do to improve my life style myself, but not easy. It seems like I was simply caught up in a process to hit NHS targets and provide government with data, rather than of any benefit to me, the patient. What a shame.

I have been with Collingham now for over 30 years and cannot fault them.Can always get an appointment in a timely manner and very rarely have been kept waiting when attending.The nurses are wonderful and obviously care about their patients and the doctors are very thorough and will prescribe/refer whenever it is necessary.As i can`t use a telephone due to hearing loss i contact them by e-mail and always get a prompt resolution to whatever the problem is.Also a word about the patient care team who once again are very capable in what they do.Finally my wife was very ill over the Christmas period and the way they looked after her,including a home visit was exemplary . All i can say is i am so grateful for the care provided.

I've been a patient at Collingham Medical Centre for nearly thirty years, and have always received great treatment. No weak links here at all - the doctors, nurses and reception staff are all exemplary. The existence of this practice alone would discourage me from moving out of the area.

I would have given no stars but you have to leave 1 to post a review. Our daughter is in a residential home with complex needs and underlying health issues that made her vulnerable to this pandemic. Despite repeated phone calls and a number of emails this practice never came back to us with a plan of action to get our child vaccinated against COVID-19. There were logistical issues that we understood but despite giving them guidance on how to overcome this, they never came back to us or were proactive in coming up with their own options. I hope they review this and look closely at how they should have managed this better. Very disappointed
