Myself and my family watched Annie at the theatre Royal tonight and Complete Communication provided the sign language gentleman tonight.
We honestly couldn’t praise him enough, he was such a wonderful addition to the show. I couldn’t fault his energy, he gave it 100% at all times and was fascinating to watch. He knew every single line to every single character, and every single lyric to every single song and sang it and signed it with great passion! Even when there was nothing to sign, he was moving to the beat and was still fantastic to watch.
Really well done to him and thank you for offering such a wonderful service to those who are deaf, we are not deaf, but those who are, were lucky to have him on stage tonight.

I have just completed a six-week Introduction to BSL course with Complete Communication Ltd. It was enormous fun and very informative. Our teacher, Sharon, was amazing and all the staff involved were so friendly and welcoming. I would thoroughly recommend this company and course if you are interested in learning BSL.

Their theatre and performance interpretation service helps us offer an inclusive and accessible theatre experience to our d/Deaf and disabled patrons. Working with Daryl, and the rest of the team at Complete Communications, has been an absolute pleasure. Daryl works incredibly hard to learn the script, and his expressions are both engaging and entertaining, while also capturing the characterisations of the actors on stage – he really becomes a part of the performance. Complete Communications have also worked with us to create BSL-interpreted trailers for our BSL performances, which really help us increase our access provision in the theatre. It is clear that the team at Complete Communications are passionate about access, and want to make the arts a more inclusive space. This agency provides my NMH support through the DSA. After moving to this agency last minute due to the failings / poor experience of another provider Daryl and the team have been fab! They put me at ease straight away and have always been highly responsive to email communication. They have helped me to navigate the systems and have liaised with my University on my behalf at times which has been so helpful! We were fortunate as a family to attend a theatre Royal performance accompanied by Daryl's interpretation for the second year in a row. The main character really put him through his paces at the end (speaking quickly and in a convoluted manner which was very entertaining ) Daryl coped admirably, responding with good humour and professionalism. All 6 of us were mesmerised seeing such fluid and expressive interpretation throughout the entire show, songs and all 😁. He positioned himself to the side of the stage and was happy to interact with performers when requested but, in no way detracting or distracting from the man show, rather providing an extra dimension. I work with a Cornish youth group and have had to move to providing online workshops, sessions and events for our due to Coronavirus. We've previously struggled to find workshops which capture the attention of our 14-18 year old group but this one was fantastic! Our instructor (Lynn) and interpreter (Darryl) worked really well as a double act to make the session informative, interesting and interactive!

We had a mixed group with some people who didn't know a single sign to one who had previously completed a BSL course. Darryl and Lynn adapted the session really well to fit everyone's abilities. Everyone learned something new and the team were really good at adapting to the online video chat as a way of teaching.... not an easy thing to do! A sign handout and certificate of attendance were also a lovely touch for the group.

At the end of the session, the whole group agreed they'd loved it! One week on, I've just received an email from one of our members to let me know that she has been practising her letters and numbers and is looking into learning more!
