We have booked events at the Crossley Centre multiple times every year for family gatherings and have always recommended it to other family members and friends. The hall itself is excellent, offering ample space and a well-equipped kitchen.

However, our recent experience was deeply disappointing. We booked the hall from 4 PM to 9 PM and were explicitly told that we had to vacate the premises exactly at 9 PM. Despite this, the caretaker (a lady wearing a hijab) arrived late, and by the time she completed her checks and let us in, it was already 4:10 PM. Her demeanor was extremely rude and unprofessional.

She unfairly accused us of causing damages that were clearly not our doing, including an absurd claim about literally digging through a brick wall in the women's restroom. Thankfully, the owner recognized the absurdity of these accusations and returned our deposit.

After we had cleaned the hall, she rudely pointed out a tiny mark on the floor saying we missed abit, calling us derogatory names in the process. She then proceeded to berate our guests, justifying her lateness by explaining she had been at a relative's house and still expected us to leave promptly at 9 PM. Her behavior was unacceptable and left a very negative impression.

Given this experience, we will not be booking the Crossley Centre again. The caretaker's attitude and unprofessional conduct overshadowed what could have been another pleasant event.

Silly Woman in Hijab who is supposed to be the key holder ruined our whole experience.
Its the month of ramadan and we had a family event planned.
I had guests waiting outside in the cold all because She arrived late, when I asked her about her timing she replies "What im only 4 minutes late"
she then said she was going to give us extra time but now she wants us out bang on booking finishes as she want happy with why I questioned her.
she was informed we have paid for the venue to be opened on time and we have clear intentions to leave on time for the hours we have paid.
What does she do? She arrives 10 minutes late at the end and started to do her site checks. She picked out the smallest of marks that nobody will really every notice on the floor. (I just got a mop and wiped the floor down again) We had a team of 10 people who wiped and mopped this venue to make sure this site was returned in a better condition that what we received. After doing her inspection she couldnt find anything to pick out so she jist looked at a few chairs and Again in a rude manner she then said i want all the blue chairs stacked in 1 corner. This is where i had to let her know shes is *simply taking the piss*.
When we originally arrived to the venue all these blue chairs were scattered all over the hall.

Unfortunately I have had to give this amazing venue a 2* only because of how this staff member made myself and my family feel at the start and the end. She 100% should not be dealing with customers and somebody needs to buy her a watch.

Get rid of her

Lovely place but the lady in hijab needs firing asap no customer service at all and aggressively rude for absolutely no reason. Like is she getting paid for her rude behaviour? because it felt like she was acting rude like it's her job.
I was planning book in future but wouldn't anymore due to the hijabi.
Wouldn't attend there again.

Event was wonderful, atmosphere was nice but towards the end the lady in hijab (her name is shareefa) spoiled the mood with her rude manners and left us dissatisfied with her poor customer service. She proceeded to yell at my family for placing the tables in the corner that she wanted but never made it clear, she also accused us of putting rubbish in the bin but we had told her politely that they do not belong to us. She was rude to us before the event even started, completely unprovoked, please act accordingly and reprimand / penalise her for her unjustifiable behaviour.

Get lady in hijab fired asap, no manners, rude to customers and overall absolutely horrendous customer service from her. She hasn’t been socialised properly, I suggest we send her to rehab to sort her head out. Proceeds with caution
