Danny House is a very special place, one of a kind. Set in bucolic countryside, it's a sanctuary of peace with a delightful community. I'm constantly impressed by the quiet attentiveness and care provided by Richard and his lovely team. Non-intrusive, but there, when needed.

It was a difficult decision and a painful wrench leaving our family home, the epicentre of vibrant family life for 50 years. But it just wasn't practical, especially after our dad died. We're now collectively breathing a huge sigh of relief, for Danny has given our mother a new lease of life.

Instead of worrying about running her own home, she's enjoying the many activities and cultural experiences that Danny offers. Weekly concerts, regular social events and a variety of exercise classes, with interesting people. It's wonderful to hear about her new friendships, and very importantly how well Jess, her dog has settled in! A couple of month at Danny and our mother's sparkle has returned.

Not only have Richard and the DH team made our Mum welcome, they've embraced our entire family. Children, grandchildren and canines! We all love visiting her at Danny.

Danny House has been my Mother's home for three years. She is 91 now and looks and feels younger and happier than she did when she arrived. Maybe it's the home cooking three times a day by Danny's resident chef....or the beautiful views of sheep and alpacas in the fields which completely surround Danny House for miles. But it could be the fun of parties, musical evenings, dance exercise and book clubs. Whatever the reason, my brother and I are happy in the knowledge that she feels safe, and is safe at Danny whilst still maintaining her independence. We also enjoy visiting and staying with Mum and we are always given a generous welcome into the Danny Family by the wonderful staff and residents. We highly recommend the Danny House lifestyle!

My mother has lived at Danny for the last five years and it has been a wonderful enriching experience for her and our whole family. Having moved back to the UK from a rural property in Spain after the death of my father, we were looking at all alternatives for her next life experiences. Not wanting to buy again or to live on her own, Danny has provided the perfect solution - a beautiful apartment of her own to furnish with everything she wanted to keep from our family home together with the immediate support of a community of friends living at Danny. I think community and feeling that the house is really her home is Danny’s greatest virtue and that absolutely comes from having Richard and his family at the helm. Mum loves gardening and Richard is happy for her and her friends to get on with using the greenhouse and growing a plot and they produce most of the cut flowers for the house each year. There are some really lovely events. All the residents are invited to everything that is going on. Every Monday there is a varied series of professional concerts in the Great Hall and today Mum was chatting to me about joining the Tuesday morning Pilates class. My family live close by in Brighton which really is the perfect set up. She comes to stay with us sometimes and we all love being able to go to Danny. Her great grand children love visiting from London and really enjoy the countryside and the garden at Danny where we all have picnics together. All in all it has provided the perfect solution for my mother and our family and I would definitely recommend anyone going through a similar family process to get in touch with Richard and go and find out what Danny can offer

My mother spent many happy years at Danny House. She lived in a lovely apartment with views over the lawns, fields of sheep and alpacas, to the hills of the South Downs. She loved to walk through the walled garden and along the herbaceous border to see what was growing in the vegetable and cut flower garden. In the other direction she would walk down the drive to the lake to see if the cormorants or herons were visiting.
Danny House gives it's residents independence without worries in a very comfortable home. The rent includes three meals a day served in a beautiful communal dining room, cleaning and maintenance, heating, water and electricity, and even council tax. The kind helpful hardworking staff are friendly and always ready to stop for a chat as are many of the residents. The historic Great Hall is the venue for weekly concerts with professional musicians or singers. It also hosts plays, talks, parties, and the Christmas Black Tie dinner. Theatre, concert, and shopping trips out are also arranged, as are summer picnics in the beautiful grounds.
In a nutshell Danny House is the perfect place for a fulfilling active retirement.

Danny has been a wonderful home for my mother for the last two years. The staff are kind, the other residents friendly and the setting is extraordinarily beautiful. The owner, Richard, does a great job of keeping the residents entertained with weekly concerts and a variety of trips and parties throughout the year. Above all, Danny enables its residents to keep their independence while taking care of chores like cooking and cleaning that one may no longer want to tackle in later years. Overall , a fantastic and completely unique place to live.

I count myself as being unbelievably lucky to live at Danny.

It is a very special place that has kept yesterday’s values alive. Danny is a 500 year old Elizabethan mansion which has been divided into apartments for active retired residents.

We all respect one another and have our own space, and at the same time are a very happy community. Everything is provided, three meals a day, and although it is is difficult to believe the rent does include everything. I do not worry about any household bills, or maintenance.

The owner arranges many social events, including a weekly concert, with top class musicians, and in the summer we have picnics in the grounds.

A 5m tree arrives at Christmas time and is set up in the Great Hall, where we have a black tie dinner, which is a lovely party for everyone.

You’ll always find a warm welcome at Danny House, seeped in wonderful history it is set in beautiful surroundings offering a sense of tranquility and elegance that is truly unique.

The staff at Danny House are exceptional. They are not only professional and attentive but also genuinely caring. They go above and beyond to ensure that every resident feels at home, offering support whilst respecting each person's independence.

The social and recreational activities are another highlight. There’s always something to look forward to, whether it's engaging in one of the many organized events, including concerts,trips out,wonderful Christmas Black tie dinner parties,Pilates or just enjoying a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens.The sense of community among the residents is heartwarming, with plenty of opportunities to form new friendships and share experiences.

Danny House is truly a beautiful place to retire to.

Danny House is an ideal, luxury residential home for the elderly. Each client is offered all meals, which are a very high standard. There is weekly entertainment from jazz, classical to swing music and beyond. Every year all clients can attend a black tie Christmas dinner and dance, fireworks and summer picnics. My Uncle was so happy here and would highly recommend it.
