Absolutely beautiful stretch of canal with so much to see the views of saddleworth more in almost every direction with the canal, river and train lines all running so close by, many little detours will show you some beautiful hidden gems from the past old by passes and train tunnels hidden away and lots of farm animals and wildlife to see.
The best chippy I have ever eaten is a short walk from the canal and grandpa Greene's ice cream for dessert makes for a perfect lunch break.
There are a few play areas and parks along this walk which is good if you have children or dogs.

Always a lovely, peaceful walk to clear a busy mind. Path can get a bit muddy but nothing a decent pair of shoes can't cope with!

Fabulous walk, a bit like going back in time, if you'd like an eat, Diggle Lock is the best & by far the cheapest.

Nice walk by the canal from Saddleworth up to Diggle nice and flat for people with mobility problems, lots of dog walkers out and about and quite a few narrow boats cruising past at a nice leasure pace.
Left the canal at Diggle and walked back down the Rd into Saddleworth village, loads of little coffee shops and pubs to finish off a nice walk and its only a couple of miles.
