I spent time at Emmaus in Dover in 2006 - 7, probably the lowest point of my entire life, it was bad enough that I had ended up homeless, but had live in a place full of two faced, shit stirring arseholes, I've never been so depressed in my life, as I was then, and you got no help, to move forward in the life, the only positive was the guy I worked with on the van picking up furniture, Robin, one of the nicest person I have ever met, took me fishing and that, top bloke, need more people people like him running places like that

A large-ish warehouse in Dover for a browse around antique, secondhand, upcycled, recycled furniture, bed frames, bric-a-brac, vintage stuff, clothing, shoes, jewellery, ornaments, glassware, china, cookware, pictures, music & films, kids games etc etc etc .. Donations accepted on Fridays atm (must book a time slot), so stock always changing - and of course, it’s all for a great cause so what’s not to love! Friendly, helpful folks always about if needed.

I love walking around the warehouse. Its got a lovely mix of furnature, brick a brack, and clothing. Can pick up a bargain. The staff are welcoming and friendly. In the past i've bought from here..an american fridge freezer, a double and single bed and bedside cabinets. All delivered to me. I go regularly now to look for second hand clothes, plants and of course their amazing apple crumble cake in the cafe!! Lovely.

Sadly St Emmaus Dover have lost their purpose. Last visited when they were at their temporary site, prices & items were reasonable then. Now they have moved back to their permanent site. Lovely renovated building but everything is overpriced. They seem to be catering for dealers, selling items before they hit the shop floor or putting ridiculous price tags on the remaining half-decent items. Another customer while I was in there said, "I can't afford to shop here" and walked out. This is not what St Emmaus should be about. The Dover branch puts the entire organisation to shame. This should be investigated. I will never shop here again, it's an utter disgrace.
