This is one of the worst customer experience I have ever had and I am 61 years old so I have had my fair share of bad experiences! The service at this branch is usually pretty bad, the main issue being they don’t have the vans available after you have booked and paid. I hire vans maybe 10 times a year and this happens the majority of the time. The second thing is they absolutely hammer you on the insurance.
Enterprise is within walking distance of my house so it should be my “go to” supplier for vans but I usually drive 5 miles to hire from a competitor because Enterprise are so bad.
On 5 July I decided to give them another chance and booked a van to pick up on 10 July. Of course when I arrived to pick it up - no van!
They took me to Rochdale to pick up the van. When I inspected the van the door mirrors were taped on with Sellotape, It had a water leak in the cargo compartment and it was filthy. It was covered in sawdust and there were large screws all over the floor. It literally appears as though someone had been using the van as a joiners workshop! When I raised this with they lad who had given me a lift he said it was all they had so I had to take the van as I was already nearly an hour late. Of course the fuel tank was empty so I was further delayed refuelling the van.
When I returned the van I raised the issue with the manager at Oldham. She looked at the van and agreed with me that the van was in poor condition and should have not been hired. We agreed a £30 refund. As of today 11 August I have still not received my £30 refund. I have rung the branch three times. I have spoken to the manager personally and in spite of all their promises I have still not received my refund. On Friday 2 August I escalated my complaint to their head office and I was promised the Area Manager would call me on Monday 5 August. Of course nobody called me and I have still not received my refund.
I am now going to MCOL to start a claim on Monday.

i have been using these guys for 5 years continuously great service and great vehicles. It's always been spot on for me through the years especially the occasions where they have gone out of their way to help me. I'll see them tomorrow again and many more times in the future.

Terrible experience with Enterprise. I was charged on my credit card three separate times for an insurance courtesy vehicle, which should never have happened. Despite agreeing to refund me numerous times, they never did.

The car provided was dirty, smelled of cigarettes, and had a faulty battery that eventually died—yet I was still charged for it. To make matters worse, no one has refunded me for this either.

The branch is dishonest and unhelpful, with staff making empty promises. Avoid at all costs. I have escalated this issue further.

Edit: after review they contacted me and gave more false promises and still no refund.

Zero customer service exists at this branch. Full of ignorant people who seems to think customers are not important.
I have used this branch for many years hiring various types of vehicles for business and personal use. I have witnessed about 4 different managers in that time, with each manager that came and went the service got worse and worse.
My most recent experience was last week when I hired a car to take my family away to Wales. I booked 3 weeks in advance to collect an automatic vehicle at 9:30am on a Saturday. When I arrived they did not have my car ready, I was offered an alternative which was a manual which I accepted. When I got in the car it smelt of cigarettes and was filthy including some kind of pill in the centre console (see images).
Upon returning the car a day early I was told I would not receive a refund for bringing the car back (this may be in the T&C’s but I have done this on many occasions and received a refund) and I would also not be receiving a refund for the downgrade from auto to manual, although by then I had told them what it thought about their branch.
I will now no longer be using this Branch, instead I will have to travel further. If it was possible I wouldn’t have given it 1 star but had no choice if I wanted to leave a review.

I had a bad experience recently. Some of the staff were rude and acted like they didn’t care about helping me. Not everyone was bad, but a few had such an arrogant attitude that it ruined the experience. They seemed impatient and didn’t want to solve my concerns. I don’t think I’ll rent from them again anytime soon and won’t recommend this place to anyone.
If you’re planning to rent a car from enterprise try to choose Manchester airport store, you will get better customer service from there.

Awful customer service and fraudulent excess charges.

Hired a premium SUV vehicle on hire for 3 days over the weekend, vehicle broke down within 24 hours. Returned the keys to the branch and was advised by the customer agent that the rental will stop from the time I returned the key as they were unable to provide me alternative transport. Following day Enterpise Charged £1000+ excess from my credit card without invoicing or alerting me. When I contacted them they stated we are investigating the issue with the vehicle and to why it broke down.

Eventually Mercedes of Stockport cleared the fault and fixed under warranty.

The area manager contacted me “Arron” and informed me he would return the excess charged, however they did not return the full amount and charged me for a 4 day rental period. I have tried numerous times to sort this matter out with no positive response.

Was charged over £400+ for a vehicle that I had for less then 1 day.

Would avoid in the future, seems the area manager receives commission from overcharging and making money back from excess charges.

Absolutely wouldn’t recommend. They are scammers. Even with evidence of the van had faults upon collecting, (and reassurance from the team at the time that it’s safe to drive and lights will go when we drive)… when the van got dropped off they said everything is fine and refunded deposit and 9 months later they’re charging us with a big bill! With no communication nothing, they just charged it from the account. Very unprofessional service given as well when trying to speak to them and the department dealing with the claim clearly don’t care even when the proof was given to them.
As a big company like this with 0 customers service skills, all they care is to take money off you with faulty vans and then charge money after for the fault that’s not at your fault!

Edit- you can clearly see how unprofessional the customer service is, they gave me a reply and called me James? proof read before you respond to a negative feedback because that just shows how unprofessional they are
