We are so lucky to have Esterm team locally. Their staff members are compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated to improving the lives of the children, young people and families they support. Cara's parent carer support group is welcoming and much needed, I only wish I could get there more often. Recently I have been supported in meetings and with Cara's help found a way to get though the breakdown of my daughters provision in school.Thank you Esteem Team for an incredible service.

This CIC is truly amazing, and can be utterly life-changing. The people who work there genuinely care and will go above and beyond for the families they support.

I cannot recommend Esteem Team highly enough to anyone who needs extra support for their young people, who feel lost and overwhelmed, who aren’t being heard properly by school or other organisations.

My son has been struggling at school for some time with learning difficulties which has lead to very low self esteem. He has been seeing Liz at Esteem Team for weekly 1:1 art sessions to help build confidence in himself and his abilities. The difference has been so noticeable, he loves his time with Liz and is buzzing with excitement to show me what he has created. The whole team are knowledgeable, caring and supportive, especially Cara who has been helping us with TAF meetings, advice and helping us feel more empowered in a long and often lonely road. Being heard, listened to, understood and supported is so important and this is exactly what Esteem team do so well.

I can’t thank Cara enough for the support she has given us as a family so far. She takes the time to listen and share her knowledge. She truly understands our son and our situation.

My son’s school welcomes her expertise. She has visited and observed my son at school, advising on his provisions. She has helped us to prepare for his annual review, attended the meeting and checked in with us after with her comments and to check we were ok! Above and beyond.

I highly recommend her support group on a Wednesday. It’s a chance to meet other people in a similar situation and the opportunity to meet a member of the Esteem Team and ask any questions. Each time I go, it reminds me I am not alone.

I feel very lucky to have found the Esteem Team at a time when I didn’t really know where to turn! They empower people to navigate a very tricky process. The help from Cara has been invaluable. Cara guides with care and compassion. Her passion for helping carers and children with additional needs shine through! She truly cares. This service is vital and gives hope for families likes ours. I came across Esteem Team on social media and made contact. I have been paired with Cara who quite honestly is one of the most calm, compassionate, friendly and supportive person I’ve ever met! She takes my frazzled adhd brain and my complex family situation like a pinch of salt and works so incredibly hard to keep things moving forward for my family. Both my young girls are autistic and aren’t very “peopley” but both love when Cara visits and always asks when she’s coming again! Excellent Team!

The Esteem Team have been so helpful with my son, I first reached out and asked for advice on moving forward with my son who has ADHD amongst other things, I was struggling to move forward with a diagnosis, support etc and Cara gave me advice, helped to set up TAF ( Team Around the Family) meetings with all relevant people attending and helped me with the knowledge of how to help my son and get the assistance we needed. He was struggling with very low moods and was so alone and unhappy. He now see's Vicky once a week and looks forward to this every week. She spends time with him, is there as his person if he needs to talk and has helped him be a happier, more positive boy. The Esteem Team are such an amazing resource and have helped our family so much, cannot recommend them enough.

Cathrine Harwood

Esteem have been amazing for our Son. He had been unable to cope in mainstream due to his Autism and ADHD and had been badly damaged during the time there. The damage was so severe that he spent 3 years at home unable to contemplate any setting. Eventually we found Esteem when he was 13 and will be completing his 3rd year this summer. He is hoping to stay for post 16 in September because he knows they can help him build on his skills to help him achieve a future. Esteem have done everything their name suggests. From a boy who was initially selectively mute with the team, they have been able to build his trust and interests to the point he barely draws breath! He will always have his diagnosis but the team have been able to bring out the best of him, guided him through issues and made him feel valued and cared for. He looks forward to going out everyday with them. His interests and skills have grown and he has been embraced for who he is. The day he started with Esteem was a massive turning point in his life and I cannot thank them enough.

As family with a child with additional needs we have relied on and have been very grateful for the support from the Esteem Team. We've been supported emotionally through a very tricky time, we've had help with school meetings, support with DLA application and the parent support group has been invaluable, especially through lockdown. We can't thank them enough!
