Really pleasant staff to deal with. Went in yesterday afternoon (26.09.2024) and bought a great sofa for the garden room. Was left to examine the sofa thoroughly. Delivery was explained very well and considering the distance to deliver I thought the charge was very fair ( we had been wondering how we might get it home). Very happy with my purchase and the whole experience, everyone's happy!

It seems like a good enough charity store. My brother and I are working on a huge DVD collection, though their pricing on DVDs is odd. 3 dvds for £1. or boxset is 0.50p per disk - so dont buy boxsets of movies like I did!
Always interesting little things around too. Board games, books, furnature. I do pop in whenever i'm in town.

Tried to donate a sofa tried calling no one picked up only to be told when I took the sofa myself to the shop that the number was wrong maybe update your number then. Manager was less then helpful with the situation staff very unhelpful and unapproachable ended up taking the sofa back to my flat to be taken away another time will not be dealing with this shop ever again awful staff awful shop and terrible service less then happy if I was the area manager I would be appalled by the lack of service that is provided at this shop.

Been going to this Charity Shop for years, found some good bargains in the past. Very good for furniture and I believe they deliver but you would to check with the lovely staff, SD in place and such a worthy cause. Very good for photo frames and cards.

Current staff are excellent, friendly and appreciative of donations and my previous review relating to previous staff deserves updating 🙂

Interestingly I am posting this review based on my experience today and I have now read 2 previous reviews on here that back up my negative experience of this store based on the poor attitude of the staff. There is clearly an issue here with us saying the same thing.

I had a large bag of nearly new clothes and footwear (high street and designer), the shop shut sharp at 5pm and I missed them by a few seconds. 2 of the ladies were behind the till so I knocked on the window, one of the ladies looked annoyed and signalled me to leave the bag on the doorstep which I did.

10 minutes later as I was walking back up the high street I saw a man on the high street attempting to sift through the bag I had left. He walked off as I approached him and the 2 ladies were still behind the till, I knocked on the window for their attention, both the ladies looked annoyed (yet again). An elderly man opened the door and I explained what had happened, I also said that if they don't want the donation then I can take the items back and let another charity shop have the items (most charities are grateful). The gentleman accepted the bag and apologised.

Garden House Hospice is a charity close to many people's hearts and these ladies in the store are seriously letting down the charity by their attitude and behaviour. If they don't want to be in the store then they should leave.

I'm torn because I'd like the charity to receive donations to help towards care and services of people with life limiting illnesses, yet at the same time the attitude and behaviour of these ladies in the store is unacceptable and this is not the first time I have noticed the attitude with at least one women in this shop usually behind the till (in her 50's & dark haired).

No donations of quality items = less £ for care and services available to Garden House Hospice, this store is seriously letting down Garden House Hospice.

I will be looking for a contact at the charity to formally raise the concern about some of the staff in this store. The potential impact to the charity and to patients is unacceptable.

I give all my things to this shop as they are super friendly and appreciative. Make an appointment and drive to the back door. I also buy things from here as it is all reasonably priced too.

Went in on Friday, purchased two items and the two women behind the till seemed stuck up, not sure why when they work in a charity shop and I’ve been very put off from returning.

Good point is that there are lots of great items in the shop that I saw.

Great Charity shop in the centre of Letchworth. Helpful and pleasant staff, kept nice and clean and lots of bargains. Best of all your money is going to a great cause.
