From the moment we arrived, We felt truly welcomed. The hosts were exceptionally lovely—kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything. Their warm hospitality made our stay extra special. The booking process was wonderfully simple and hassle-free, setting the tone for an easy, relaxing getaway. The accommodation itself was perfect, offering comfort and charm in an unbeatable location. This is, without a doubt, the best place to stay in Grange over Sands or the Lake District, whether relaxing at "home", or venturing into the breathtaking landscapes of the Lake District. My family and I (two adults, one child and a dog) had a wonderful time at Lothlorien / Kents Bank Holiday Cottage. It is a very clean, well maintained, spacious property that has all the amenities you will need for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We particularly enjoyed dining in the outside garden room during the day in fine sunny weather, relaxing in the surrounds of the beautiful garden. The views of Morcombe Bay from both the lounge and double bedroom are fantastic. The property is conveniently located in a quiet, salubrious, residential area and is an excellent base for enjoying the charms of Grange over Sands, Cartmel and the Southern Lake District. The off road parking on the front drive will easily accomodate your vehicle. David and Pam are attentive hosts, with not only great communication throughout, but the personal touches of meeting upon arrival, with a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge ready for making a cuppa upon arrival. David is more than happy to provide useful information about the local area and beyond. We will definitely stay again when we return to the area.....

We spent a lovely weekend at Lothlorien. The bungalow is lovely, very clean, kitchen is well equipped and the beds are lovely and comfy, garden is beautiful. The views from the living room is amazing.

We had 3 small dogs and found some lovely walks nearby. Grange-Over-Sands is a beautiful town.

Try fish over chips, it was very yummy.

We visited Cartmel races, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

I would recommend a visit.

David and Pam were great hosts, offering advice on things to do, places to eat. We underestimated our ETA which was no issue to David & Pam, David was there to great us when we arrived several hours after expected.

We had a wonderful weekend break in this lovely bungalow in Grange over Sands.David met us at the property and was very welcoming and showed us round the property and spent time showing us how everything worked. It was lovely and clean and had everything you could need. It had stunning views of the bay which you could view from the comfort of a sofa. The garden was beautiful with a garden room and plenty of space to sit out in the sunshine. It was well located within a short drive to Grange town centre and the promenade. My elderly parents struggled a little bit with the steps up to the front door but we used the back door as an entrance which could be accessed down the side of the property.

Stunning views,lovely walks from the house to Grange via the promenade.
Beds were comfortable with luxury bed linen.
Spotlessly clean.
Easy heating control,house lovely and warm.
Great hosts,provided tea,coffee,milk,biscuits etc-very thoughtful and appreciated.
Big secure garden,our dog loved to explore it and we knew he was safe.
We enjoyed sitting in the summer house at the bottom of the gorgeous garden.
One of,if not the best holiday rentals we have stayed in,can’t wait to return.

A lovely weekend spent in a beautiful home. Excellent communication from the hosts and a warm friendly welcome on arrival, listen to any dinning recommendations made and you won’t go wrong. Dog friendly with a garden perfect for warm evenings relaxing with family. Gorgeous views across the bay to Morecambe and Heysham from the living room sat on the couch with your morning brew before a day of adventures.

David and Pam were warm & welcoming from start to finish, full of useful advice of where to go and what to see, nothing was too much trouble, their place was as described, immaculately clean, beautiful views and easy to access local amenities, we were situated 5 mins walk from Kents Bank railway station, 40 mins beautiful walk from the centre of Grange-over-sands and 30 minutes from Windermere. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would like to return in the future ☺️

I don't think a review on Google can do this place justice. An absolute gem at the base of the lake district. From the moment we booked it until the moment we left David kept in touch with us,asked us if we had any special requests etc. When we arrived David greeted us to show us around the house,how every aspect worked and left some nice items for the dog (a bowl,doggy bags and a tray and toy) as well as leaving us with milk and biscuits to start the holiday. David also pointed out some local places to visit and we did just that the following day. The house itself was wonderful,very warm and cosy and the bed was comfy. All the amenities you needed in the house,even in the kitchen every pot and pan and utensil you could think of. We had a great time despite the weather and we hope to come again in the next year.
