It was a pleasant visit, fairly quiet today. Waited about 25 minutes with a relative to be seen. Ticket system in operation. Used the time to look at leaflets available and information on posters. The area was clean and tidy with pot plants brightening up the environment. Tables and chairs in alcoves as well as back to back seating in a line.
There was an "under the sea" knitted display that looked very cheerful and colourful on the slope approaching the waiting area. It's good to look for the beauty in ordinary every day places.

I never agreed to pay council workers pensions with my council tax? £200 a month? For what exactly?
This council is an absolute joke.. rubbish collected everyother week.. bin men wont take any extra waste (you wodner why you dont get a drink at Christmas anymore) streets are over grown and covered in litter. Pot holes everywhere. City centered littered with low life trash. So where is this money going? How are you benefiting the BRITISH people?

I pay council tax by DD. I should never owe anything. I suddenly get a letter saying YOU OWE £££ you’ve 5 days to pay or face court. No explanation as to why. What if this letter never got delivered? Straight to court with a £110 fine! As it was, by the time it arrived that left 3 days to pay and it says electronic payments take longer than that to clear. So paying straightaway, I still won’t meet the deadline!

I strongly believe this letter is wrong but paid to avoid the extra fees. I doubt it will ever be refunded. I will never get a reply or they will admit they are wrong. I know for a fact the council tax people gave someone the wrong answer about someone going into a care home and do they have to still pay council tax on their empty home. They don’t know their own rules!

I pay what they set my monthly rate to be. No payments bounced. HOW CAN I OWE THEM ANYTHING? It’s only June!!

Is this where our money goes? To pay for staff who are incompetent? I personally don’t use any facilities in Gravesend. I’m basically paying purely to get my bin emptied. The road near Morrisons is badly cracking up. This is ignored. Yet last year they resurfaced the other end of the road which had nothing wrong with it. My road is covered in weeds. I spray my bit myself. I never go into the town because there’s no parking and I hate the roads there.

To the Council. These letters you send out are very stressful. There should be explanations as to why you owe the money. They should be sent recorded delivery if it means you could face court. What if it wasn’t delivered? I live in a flat and I do get nextdoors post. I know for a fact that the cow above me wouldn’t give me my post if she got it in error. I’d be going to court for doing no wrong!!! It’s so wrong. If I had no money, how can I magic it up in 5 days. If I had no money, adding another £110 makes it worse. On the back of the letter it says we are here to help. SERIOUSLY!!!!!

I haven’t slept and the whole thing is in my head 24/7. Paying this UNPLANNED bill has left me short of money now. I won’t be able to manage this month now. I’m SO stressed over this. It seems you can trust no one anymore to do the right thing. I’ve so much stress in my life which other people cause me.

Awful council they deem it acceptable to let there tenants use homophobic abuse and threaten the public and do nothing about it. The communication is diabolical in the housing department this deserves to be shut down the way the team is Run by the managers is shocking no calls are ever logged by the useless housing team and don’t ever expect a call or email back. The council allow you to break as many clauses in your tenancy agreement with no back lash.
Good luck to anyone who ever has any issue with this council.

It was easier to go into the council to arrange collection of a used needle bucket. I had to wait for 15 minutes on the phone to get through to customer services, but once through it was easy and very efficient. The bucket has now been collected.

Reported a young tree knocked over at 09:05 am. They were on site within 2 hours to survey. By 1 pm the tree had been replanted and all was good. Well Done.

Not a warm welcome I must say,people working at reception are extremely cold and lack compassion,went there yesterday for help,they almost kicked me out there with their attitude,would definitely not recommend this Borough .The guy sitting there had a very cold face,plus the woman talked in a harsh way.
