The Great Massingham Area Community Car Scheme is a wonderful and essential lifeline for people living in rural areas who find it impossible to find transport and get out. The Scheme provides a valuable service to everyone who needs transport for any number of reasons. May it be a medical appointment, a trip to the hairdresser's or simply to see friends. We endeavour to reduce the isolation people feel when they do not drive or have no public transport in their vicinity.
You can phone and book a community car to take you wherever you need to go and it will cost you very little as we only accept donations for the actual mileage you have travelled.
We are a non-profit charitable organizations and all out volunteers have been checked via an Advanced Disclosure and check are always ongoing.

I've been a driver for Community Cars for around five years. I think this is a great scheme. My turn to use it as a passenger will surely come.

As a driver I'm asked to do one or two trips a month and if I can't do the trip, it's no problem. When I do the trips almost all the time the passengers are very interesting and I'm glad to meet them. It's a good experience.

Sadly they have become very unreliable and to get any transport you know have to book a week in advance which doesn't guarantee a car by any stretch of the imagination.
