Very peaceful gurdwara, ample parking although the bays are very tight. Has 2 divan halls and 2 Langar halls. Main entrance is from Alice way as they sometimes close the other gate. The main gurdwara in Hounslow

The Gurus are present with us at all times, as evident at the Gravesend Gurdwara. The quiet and peaceful haven by the river harbour is beautiful for prayers and meditation to the Almighty Waheguru.

Nice place for Sikh gathering. Langer is totally English style (low in Salt). Arrangements are good. Parking is wide, because they have 2 halls.

Alice Way Gurdwara...are you not following the rules set out regarding wedding outfits We all see not...girls wearing bollywood blouses. See photo of couple married 13/14 December 2024.

Look at that blouse. absolutely disgusting that you have allowed that!!

Worst management team ever. Every other gurdwara is contacting the council to increase the numbers allowed to attend a wedding according to the space in the halls. This one no. They want to decide with their so called committee members who just make up their own rules. Restrictions Restrictions.

Don't allow you to have external tables and chairs in new hall for wedding lunches. Apparently its going against our faith How If sangat/guests can be expected to sit upstairs in prayer hall and be seated on the floor for Langar, what difference is table and chairs going to make ? We are still all seated!
In todays world gurdwaras are allowing seated lunches to take place. Not this one though - they seem to be following their faith more than other gurdwaras!
Respect the fact that some families do not want to have grand receptions, maybe cant afford or dont want to splash out on what they deem unnecessary, but would rather serve food in the gurdwara to their guests and the boys side. It has always been the case in our culture from back home and here too that at a wedding the guests are to be served once seated, you makesure they are seated, it is a sign of respect. Seated and fed always.
The tables and chairs - They are a personal expense borne by the user of the hall. But they seem to have an issue with it. Please remove your tables and chairs in your office, you should be sat on the floor too - why do you have and sit on chairs and work on tables, especially on the same floor as guru sahib? You should be seated on the floor too , or maybe stand and work and welcome sangat and proceed with bookings all standing. Change your backward ways please. Respect the fact that today's generation want to celebrate entire marriages in the gurdwara sahib.

Beautiful gurdwara where we took photos for the bride and groom on their Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding). The ceremony was overlooked by one of the committee members who explained in Punjabi and English the meaning of the Anand Karaj. The melni took place inside the foyer downstairs where there was ample room, same for the large langar hall where the food and tea/drinks were served before the ceremony. Car parking was no issue as there's access to an overflow carpark directly next to the gurdwara. During this ceremony there was also another large ceremony talking place in another part of the gurdwara which wasn't an issue as seemed to be properly managed by the gurdwara committee.
